Or was that just so much spin ?
Your not telling me, if Halifax want Micheal Weyman or Ryan Bailey, we can have them before Hull KR.
I think we decide who we get of who's left.
My point been, what's left.... is left for a reason.

| Quote: Fax Missionary "By your logic we should have merged with Bradford when super league was founded. Progress at all costs eh, smart thinking.
As a 'real fan' of 40 years I'm entitled to my opinion. Supporting one club for that long also gives you a grounding in good and bad decisions at the club and there have been many. Even though I now live overseas I still spend a significant chunk of my hard earned on merch and attend games every time I'm back home. That alone gives this 'keyboard warrior' the right to express my opinion so if you don't like it then use your rose tinted specs to read comments you like.'"
I have never said success at any cost so please don't put words into my posts! And to say with Bradford! Wash your mouth out. The club needs to process and Fax, KR and Gateshead have enters into a business agreement that most of have no knowledge of the ins and outs. Speaking of which how do Gateshead feel ? I'm sure they are happy about the prospect for of having played from big clubs like Fax and KR. Yes you have an opinion but I think right now some people are sounding off with an old moral stance from last seasons DR mess without stepping back looking at what our BOD have done. Well done by the way for supporting Fax for so long. So have I, even when I served overseas I never let my passion dwindle for the Fax

I do think that this is better for us than them just sending who they want, but I do agree with you.
If the club needs to take this route then so be it, for me the issue is that we've not done it with a good enough club!

| Your fans were a disgrace with the abuse you gave swinton fans last year about dual reg.
Nice to read the highly original "our agreement is different " line
You've done it now . Ha ha. Egg on faces . Enjoy

4. Josh Mantellato
5. Ken Sio
6. Maurice Blair
7. Albert Kelly
8. Adam Walker
9. Keal Carlile
10. Michael Weyman
11. Kevin Larroyer
12. Graeme Horne
13. Tyrone McCarthy
14. Mitchell Allgood
15. James Donaldson
16. Ryan Bailey
17. Greg Burke
18. Liam Salter
19. Kris Welham
20. James Green
21. Aaron Ollett
22. Jordan Cox
23. Terry Campese

25. Macauley Hallett
26. Sonny Esslemont
27. Josh Guzdek
28. Connor Robinson
29. Matthew Marsh
30. Steven Holker
From Hull's point of view in a ideal world which was injury free, no 1-17 would be off limits, and apart from Salter, Welham, Cox & Campese who will be in the side at different times of the season, who else get in our side? unless I'm missing something I've never heard of anyone else & most of them haven't even made there debut's for HKR yet and it's not as if they've had a brilliant academy team lately either.
Got a feeling HKR will struggle this season too - with a paper thin squad, theoretically could they borrow players of us? I don't know anything about DR.'"
Apart from the 13 new signings who haven’t made their debut?

| Maybe another reason we are going down this route is that the current coach hasn’t had much choice in the make up of the squad or our new signings and there won’t be the cash left to make any of his own. Therefore, he may believe we might not be strong enough and this could be the only way of having sufficient cover.

| I believe Chris Chester is still a season ticket holder at your club. I'm sure he has your interests at heart. What he, Richard Marshall and Stanley Gene do will hopefully benefit all three clubs. Chris knows them both well having played at Halifax with Richard and spent many years with Stanley at KR.
Some on here, although I have never visited before, seem to have delusions of grandeur. A touch of realism is required. Non of our three clubs tore up any trees last year. Bearing in mind where your club is at the present time the dismissive attitude in some quarters towards our players seems to say more about the contributors than it does about player quality. Leeds or Wigan would be more acceptable to some I am sure but then would those clubs want to be associated with Halifax. We all find our own level, maybe Halifax have found theirs.

| Isn't this partnership more about off field strategies? We don't have to take any players of HKR unless we want to and they're available, exactly the same situation we are in with any other club. If we took a player from Leeds for example, we loan him, if we take one from HKR he's on Dual Reg. Same principle different terminology.
All we seem to be doing is linking up with a club who has managed to establish itself as a SL club to try and tap into the strategies to see if they can help us do the same. Why have we chose HKR, well why not, they have Chris Chester in charge, who knows our club, and they have Willie Poaching who knows our coach.
The club needs something like this to compete, but if your against it and believe it's a good reason to stop attending games then that is your right, but should this work and HRLFC gain promotion to SL, I would hope you could swallow your pride and start re-attending games again, because regardless of who the club is in partnership with, it will always need loyal, supportive fans, paying at the turn styles.

| Bit of a shame really. I always thought Halifax were a big enough club to stand on their/our own. I don't like DR as it is and saying this agreement is better because we get to select players from a different team to play in ours doesn't really make me warm to the idea. I'm sure I read recently that Halifax aren't running an under 20's next year, if that is correct then what message does that send out to local teams that Halifax as a professional club would rather develop other clubs' younger talent from miles away than our own local talent?
I was feeling pretty excited for next season with a very promising coach and an influx of new players, all capped off with a traditional jersey. What gives Hull KR players the right to wear our traditional colours just to benefit themselves and their own club? Perhaps I'm being over dramatic and maybe even missing a point or two, but I feel a tad let down by all this.

They get the right to wear the colours if they are picked by your coach to play in your team. They will only be picked if your coach believes the player is better than what is available in your own squad. Yes this benefits the player and so also benefits Rovers. If he is better than what you have surely that also benefits your team. Taking someone on loan from another club has the same immediate benefit. The tie-up between the three clubs goes beyond this however and the off-field liaison hopefully will have long term benefits for all.

Well, I thought that, but see post 1 of the thread.

| You must be in some real sheeite to do this, your gaffer was so anti DR a position I applauded him for a couple of years ago
Marshall came through wires coaching ranks who have abused DR for a few years so it is probably no big deal for him but as a fan I know how it felt when we had it, so here's some advice
Bend low bite hard and try not to cry between thrusts

| When DR first came out I was dead against it, thin end of the edge and all that. Since then I think a lot of clubs have learnt the hard way regarding DR and maybe some lessons have been learned.
Just over 3 months ago this club was a rudderless shell and maybe today's decision is the consequence of last seasons debacle. I have nothing but praise for the BOD and the club in how they have gone about their business since then and today's decision has been made with the head and not the hart.
Richards inherited a team that whilst fills me with confidence is still a bit raw and thin in places. Why would you want to Richard to work with one hand tied behind his back should things not go to plan in terms of injuries etc. This club needs to squeeze every last drop out of every opportunity if we're going to make that top 4 and give full time squads a bloodied nose, hopefully we've dropped the stubbornness of the last 3 years.
The BODs actions in the last 3 months and willingness to reach out to the fans in my opinion entitles them to be cut them some slack on this one and let's see how it goes.
I have total faith in Richard who will do whatever it takes to get us where we want to be. He will do what's best for Halifax RLFC which 3 months ago was looking down the barrel. Added to that HKRs coach is a good friend of the club as well.
