| A part time club with much less money available than the current top 2 in this years Championship and even less than those who will be joining it next year sadly that's what we are.
It could easily get worse for us now if we miss out on a top 4 spot next year and thus the play off's with the bottom SL clubs which seems a real possibility.
With the above in mind who could we bring in that we would be confident in before the event?
Would any coaching set up be able to get us good enough because we are not at the moment.
Is it too late?
Trying to be upbeat but very concerned as we will have all the current on and off the field issues and probably a few more as well.

| Personally, i think it's a little bit dis-respectful to be discussing such a topic while the coaching staff are currently employed by the club. They've been employed to do their jobs & i presume signed contracts for a fixed term, whatever we think as fans or sponsors they should be allowed to concentrate on their roles without being criticised in this format. We've been down this path many times over & i know from talking to some of the players at that time the "sack Faz" campaign was hurtful to the squad & staff around them, i'm sure this will be the case now. I'm always open about how i see the rugby club but i'm sure i try not to put into writing anything that is personal or pinpoint individuals, that's unfair and after-all they're all in it together, that's where you build a team spirit from. It's a fact i'm not happy with the performances i've witnessed over the last 18 months or so but why do people think coaching Halifax RLFC would be such an attraction to the likes of Andrew Dunneman or Danny Orr, given the roles they already do ?
See the season out & see what that brings i say, i emailed some of the directors earlier this season & in one of the replies i received, i was asked to make my judgements at the end of the season, that is as good an answer as i could have wished for in reality, so that's what i will do.

| If you ignore the rumours, Harrison's deal expires at the end of the season doesn't it? So this is an entirely reasonable conversation to have.

| I also heard a rumour that the rumoured new deal was dependant on finishing second this year, which is why it wasn't announced. Rumours are rumours though....

| Didn't Karl say at the pre season do at the Shay that it was unlikely we would make the top two given the money the other two could spend?
Nobby was at yesterday's game.

| What does it matter? The points will be taken off next year once they already have their money.

This year we lost to Batley, Drew with Workington, Lost to Crusaders, Lost to Dewsbury and Drew with Batley. All of those teams I gaurentee will be spending less than us. If Harrison wants to use this excuse then it works the other way too. Featherstone have massively underperformed for the amount of money they are allegedly spending, yet they have still beaten us twice and are going to finish above us in the league. Give over giving excuses for him mate, we have been shocking this season and everyone knows it.
Its not going to get any better with Harrison and even less money, it can only get worse. The only hope we have is for our coach to improve cheaper players and retain enough of them so we can compete at the top. I struggle to think of a player that has got better under Harrison, probably only Ambler (and he had to open his own gym to do it). Glen Morrison and Paul Cooke are great examples of coaches that have gotten more out of 'cheaper' players. Harrison appears to be doing the opposite.

Really ?? so you could cheat to get 500k safe in knowledge that any penalty
would not affect this season's standings...surely not even the RFL are that stupid.....oh hang on.

| They do two audits, one half way through season, one after the season has finished. Featherstone have signed how many players since half way through the season? In fact, in Nabahoo's own words they were going to sign Gareth Carvel before the RFL warned them about the salary cap.

Our chairman was working closely with the RFL when Nabahoo was trying to sign these so called players because he probably knew we couldn't afford them and he told us all at the last fans forum
As far as I am aware we have only signed Blackmore and possibly Kent and got Annakin and Trout on DR with a view to keeping them if all goes well there has been other loan players but they all went as soon as Probiz and Poskitt went and we have played better without them to be honest It has also allowed two of our 19 to move up as you saw yesterday

| As far as im concerned, the season is over, our little run of form was more to do with the fixtures falling right.
Featherstone may slip up, but having beaten us twice, and not relying on the wonderful bonus point, I believe they will be deserved of 2nd and the money that goes with it, for a few years now they have been the team to beat, and Leigh deserve all the plaudits for a revival that would make Lazarus sit up.
I'm sorry to say this as I think the hardy souls that have stuck by the club deserve a little better than we have seen for a couple of years, but essentially the club is reaping what its sewn.
Unless we can find a coach who can improve players and over achieve, we're in for a tough few years.

We have signed a few since mid season, but if you do your research a bit better, you'll see that we've also offloaded plenty too.
You do know that both Leigh and Featherstone were given dispensation to spend the extra £100k that the Championship rules allow, if you can demonstrate that you have the money.
Harrison can moan on all he likes, most people think he's a pretty poor coach. Not me though, I think he's great and I hope he stays at Halifax for many more years.

| My Fax friends never cease to amaze me , its only a few days ago Big Karl was coaching the Leagues Form team unbeaten in around 9 games ,and second spot virtually yours , however after Sundays defeat (Which Charlie predicted ), you are now demanding Karls head Fev are a very good team , Fax are not a bad team either , why panic ?
I know Halifaxjohn and Bentleyman along with Dutchy will be hurting at the moment , but they wont lose faith , you have 2 winnable games to come , who knows what will occur in them , a wise man once said "Never change the way you lean towards the wind ", and I agree .
