| Would say that is a no brainer Brew. After all his excitement on twitter about Fax and implementing all he learnt at the Roosters, nothing. Not even a mention of the club. Lots about the bulls though.
I reckon he went ages ago.
It's all a bit suspect. Ever since "rentgate" the club has been quiet, even Mr Abbott not making comments. Either we have the worst commercial set up or we truly are in a bit if a mess

| Nothing on Tony Abbot's twitter account about Halifax since December 2013.
We're just rumbling along. I think we have a decent team on the pitch but I think getting into Super League is far far away from the intentions of the club. Next year when 4 other clubs have over £600k to spend they'll snap up the best 80 players in the division. That's when the free fall will occur.
That's the current outlook based on the last three months of this 'new era'. A lot can change in the next three months. You only have to look at Leigh to believe that there is hope. Basket cases one minute; Super League newcomers the next. That's what spin can do in a short space of time.

| A fine line between brutal honesty and just enough spin to keep the fans coming back. If you can't manage that best to say nothing! I believe Mr Abbott just wanted the Shay.
Which would you prefer Rich, honesty or spin?

| Honesty - everytime. Problem is, saying nothing is just fuelling apathy. The biggest thing stopping ambition is the fact that Super League itself is broken. You've got a club like Widnes breaking it's balls to do everything to get a break-even audience but they're only getting five and a half thousand - after the start they've had!! Which club owner would want to land themselves with that headache especially as The Shay brings in little income under its current set up? That's why Abbot's gone quiet. You can't make it in SL without the commercial firepower of owned stadium facilities.

| Absolutely agree LR but this is what I've been getting at for the last few months. Granted things on the pitch have improved but the way we're just bumbling along worries me. How can you expects new and old punters to be excited or interested when the club look totally disinterested..... Personally think we need new blood to help the club either as a takeover or an addition to the board. They're all currently retired or have busy businesses to run... That sugar daddy that bank rolls us sadly isht about to turn up on his white horse... But it's what we need.

| It seems also that the club has had a fairly solid excuse to hold off on the push for SL - the fact that it's been a closed shop. Now the gates are open it's all gone a bit quiet. To be honest I don't blame them. It simply costs too much money without stadium revenue.

| Spot on Rich. Loads of noise when there's not a cat in hells chance if SL.
Then door opens, investment required, reality check, tub thumping stops. Can't blame them.
Trouble is, as it stands, the club is slowly dying....

| Somehow the club have to make a future in this division and settle for middle eight competition boost. Problem is - competing with richer clubs to get in that top four.
At The Shay now - lots of Widnes fans here. Stadium looks good for once.

Luck is a combination of preparation and opportunity
Just to avoid confusion Starbug is the username of Steven Pike
SOMEBODY SAID that it couldn’t be done
But he with a chuckle replied
That “maybe it couldn’t,” but he would be one
Who wouldn’t say so till he’d tried.
So he buckled right in with the trace of a grin
On his face. If he worried he hid it.
He started to sing as he tackled the thing
That couldn’t be done, and he did it!:9005.jpg |

| The only investement needed is a pre everthing else allocated marketing budget, and making full use of your community dept, then the right attitude ( see my ' sig ' below for that )
Wether the door to SL is open or not is irrelivant, the mindset is to grow wherever you are, as has been alluded to Widnes with a fan base in the Championship of almost double everybody else havent been able to build as they would have liked, but still no reason not to try

Only 2200 there. And there looked to be over 1000 from Widnes.

| There were 1,400 there last week. This week, more people in South and East stand. So, how do you only get 2,200 for today's gate??? Maybe they don't count midgets? That's one not on the list today then....

| Shared gate so do right to under egg it, SL sides do it all the time when they play at home. Also irrespective of how many attend a league game season tickets are always counted wether they turn up or not in the attendance figure.
