I notice that the Bobby Ham Beggar Meter has not been updated recently.
No problem - 10 Games Target - 16,000 Current Total - 14,572 = Deficit 1,428
Say thankyou.

Keep making excuses. Your crowds are off target and your club is losing money. Your fans are well known for causing trouble, even though you are no better than a Pub Football team. I also have been abused by Halifax Town fans in the past- I wore a Halifax RLFC top on a Saturday, walking through the town and was spat at. And So what Triran says happened, doesnt surprise me one bit. Only last week you had your fans throwing things on the pitch. And as for your luddite forum, where you accuse people of all sorts of rubbish, including receiving backhanders and threatening to run people out of town- The less said the better

Wether you believe in politics or not the things they were saying was downright despicable so I havn`t looked on it since .Calling elected members and leader of the council ,liars ,taking brown envelopes , suggesting new jobs like rent boys etc ` ect pages and pages of it.
So I think I will throw out my old "30 second Betamax copy of Halifax Town the Glory Years" that`s if I can find it.'"
I thought the video was "Halifax Town - 100 Great Throw Ins"?

I guess we could always go in to administration and end up wiping all our debts off.
Thats one way to do it.

Exactly.
The main thing that FCHT fans blame Fax for is "squandering" the Thrum Hall cash when it was supposed to be spent on the Shay.
For "squandering" read "paying HM Government their taxes". Of course we could have used the Halifax Town method and just gone bust owing a couple of million and then started up again debt free.
If HMRC want their money they will have their money. It's no good saying "sorry but Halifax Town want the money so you can sod off".

Just goes to show that you can't take much that comes out of the rugby club as truth though. All the Rugby ans complaining about the ground seem to have forgotten what it was like when you moved in.

Former Football League club Halifax Town has gone bust and faces a challenge to re-form at a lower level next season. Halifax collapsed on Friday with debts totalling more than £2m. Administrators offered a settlement of 2.5 p in the £ but creditors refused and the club will now be liquidated just three years short of its 100th anniversary. The final straw came when it was emerged that the taxman was owed more than £800,000 - far more than initial estimates and a sum administrators described as 'insurmountable'. Halifax Town will now cease to exist in their current form and the only option is to start a new club from scratch further down the non-league pyramid. It is not know whether David Bosomworth - the man behind the consortium that was engaged in a protracted bid to buy Halifax - would back a reformed club, but the Supporters Trust have already discussed the idea of setting up a fans club on the lines of AFC Wimbledon. However, it would be very difficult to start such a club in time for next season. One challenge for them, or any re-formed club, would be where they would play.

I would imagine the way the Town fans are going on then the only thing they were paying was their rent. Obviously that was the most important thing to pay wasnt it because heaven forbid they would miss a payment.
I wonder if they have come up with a better way of paying their taxes this time?
I also think because they are doing so well then the right thing to do would be to pay back some of the money they owed when they went belly up. I would imagine they are doing that though because of their high moral standing.

Halifax players threatened strike action over unpaid wages in April 1990. The club sold Neil James for £20,000 to pay wages but were still in financial trouble including an unpaid tax bill of £70,000. Halifax went into the hands of receivers, £760,000 in debt, a take-over bid having failed after the players refused to take a pay cut. The club was re-formed and the assets were purchased by the Marsland/Gartland consortium of local businessmen.

| Heres one for the Town fans, why not do another FOI letter and find out how much rent the old club owed when they went belly up. Just think what a stadium we could have now if it turns out they wernt paying the rent.
