| Quote: SuperGeoff "And without the work of the town fans the ground would have been put into an uncertain future. I'm ure that isn't what you want is it?
If you want to watch a team full of players who give 100% to the cause and aren't overpaid by a club who are run in profit then you'd love FC Halifax Town.
I for one am glad that the rest of the world doesn't share your view, hence why football is a sport played all over the world by people of all races.'"
Why on earth would I "love FC Halifax Town"? I've just told you the game bores me rigid and after reading the input on Shaymen.net I couldn't bear to breathe the same air as most of that lot.
I don't care how popular football is. If the football World Cup Final was being played at the bottom of my road between England and Brazil and I had a free ticket I wouldn't go and watch it. When the last world cup was on and England were playing one of their games I went to watch Fax at Batley.
FCHT fans constantly harp on about our "minority sport" and I can never work out if it is meant as an insult, in which case it hasn't worked, or whether they are suggesting that you should only watch the most popular sport the same as everyone else does. One of them even suggested that any man who doesn't like football is weird. If so I hold my hand up and state that I'd rather be weird than told what I must watch.

In the same way that playing in a sport here my team could not be promoted or relegated would bore me. Just out of interest, when was the last time an unfancied team from a lower division beat a bigger club in the challenge cup? I'd say not recently. The side with the biggest players and the most pace always win Rugby League matches. Football is a game of skill and patience. Rugby League has become a joke in the last 17 years.

ok, I'll shout: FOR THE LAST TIME I AM NOT THE SLIGHTEST BIT INTERESTED IN YOUR BORING, CRAPPY GAME!
Have you got that now?
Skill and patience?
You have to pass the ball backwards AND forwards. It make sense as to why you dislike it now. As I said, you're welcome to your opinion, but I'm just glad the rest of the world don't agree.

| Quote: SuperGeoff "1. I agree but the Shay is only a very small portion of the problem
2. What money have Reactiv put into the ground? Only money they've put in is an attempt to keep you solvent.
3. What are they supposed to say about Town? "Thanks for making us realise the legal barriers that we'd torn down"?
4. I read this to be in terms of sponsorship and grants. The Football Foundation would be a very good possibility for this.'"
1. The Shays problems were what gave life to the idea of selling it in the first place and are still very much alive, the other problem areas will need to be addressed for what thay are and are not part of the debate.
2. The councils statement was addressed to an open audience, all people of calderdale and not to just the sporting clubs.
Yet they chose to thank Reactiv, the leadership and owners of the rugby club for support.
They chose to say and thank their Town counterparts for nothing.
3. Town as the leadership did not make the councilors aware of anything, legal or otherwise and said little to nothing.
It was a few supporters which choose to call themselves TOWN as if they represented the entire fan base and club and the entire rate paying population of calderdale as well.
This self appointed group actually think they have pulled of the legal coup of the century when they have probably left they Shay to remain unfinnished if unsold and devalued it if it is sold!!
The legalities of any sale would have had to have been in place anyway.
4. You read it that way with no substance or insight into what they meant because of your viewpoint, it's known as you only read or see what you want to read or see.
The real contradiction is, your views of how crooked and incompetent these same councilors are have been well published.
How come you trust and accept what they are saying now?
Question is.
Do really think the Shay won't be sold to the highest bidder whoever that may be sometime in the future when the funds run out again??
If the sale of the Shay is now off the table for good then nothing for you to worry about and no point flogging a dead horse so rest easy.

Can I say and nobody has raised this before but the reason Town are 'in profit' is all down to having a Board that are tipping money in namely Bobby Ham and David Bosomworth.
Now come on Big Gob (Super Geoff) you happy that a couple of businessman are running FC Halifax Town and the club due to its low crowds are totally reliant on them like Halifax RLFC are with Tony Abbott????
Hypocrites the lot of you, slagging off a guy with money from fans of a club run by a couple of guys with money.

The only money our board have put in is 34k to start up the club, that is it. But clearly you're on the wind up and trying to get people to believe your falsities and possibly even you fantasies. I'm not going to pretend we could run the club without them, because I think we need the stability they've given the club, but they have not put any money in apart from starting up the club. We earned £100k from reaching the FA Cup first round and being televised in 2011 and over £400k from the sale of Jamie Vardy including sell on clauses.

1. There never was an idea of selling it. I'm not sure where you've got that idea from? Tony Abbott made a bid that the council aren't proceeding with. I could have a meeting tomorrow about buying the Piece Hall, it doesn't mean that the council are thinking about selling it.
2. He thanked Reactiv Media because they're keeping one club solvent and the discussions are with them perhaps? I'm sure if you applied your brain a little you'd realise just as much without having to be told.
3. Our board, last I heard, were looking into the legalities of the matter, and therefore doing the wise thing of keeping quiet, unlike TA and Reactiv who were telling every man and his dog that they were buying the Shay. Remember the infamous 2-3 weeks away tweet?
4. Because with the ACV in place the council have to inform any trusts if the ground is put on the open market and a bid has been accepted. If the council went over the top of the ACV anyone involved in the sale would be out of a job.
I'm sure the council will be happy to sell the Shay to me when I win euromillions.

You couldn't have a meeting tomorrow because the coucil offices are closed on Saturday.
The Piece Hall has never been mentioned as of being sold either so you would be wasting your time again.

1. There never was any idea of selling it well why have you and the self appointed Town group been so active in doing everything you can do to stop it and produce a pack of lies about TA.
Do normal people who want to "debate" something act like that if there was never anything to worry about, clearly if you took on your own advice and applied your brain a little you'd realise that without having to be told.
Or perhaps you do need to be told applying my brain a little.
Why put the ACV in place if as you now say the council were never thinking of selling, can you not see the blatant contradiction in what you say in point 1 and point 4 of the same post!
And you mention brain power.
2. Ah, you accept he thanked Reactiv then but if it is just for what you say why did he not thank the Town BOD for keeping the other club solvent? Unless of course he thought FC Town were not as important.
3. The last you heard from your board!! Well it must have been a whisper because noboddy else heard a single thing, i agree it was very wise to keep quite if you haven't got a clue what to say.
TA was telling every man and his dog about buying the Shay!!!
What happened to the accusations from you and your crew that stated negotiatons were being done in secret, illegally behind closed doors and people would lose there jobs. Another contradiction.
You ask people to enter a debate but you clearly can't even keep track of what you and your mates are saying from one day to the next.
Change your name to just Geoff, the super bit has just fallen off like everything else of poor quality.
Have the Town group appointed you as their spokesman or is this another self appointment, surely there must be someone better to champion the cause, surely your not the best thev'e got.

Oh dear Jon. Each post you make just makes you look more ridiculous.
If Mr Ham and Bosomworth were 'tipping money' into the club, at least it has ensured the club is solvent and up to date with its rent. However, if you check the financial returns for the last few years - in fact since the club was founded - you will see that Directors Loans have not increased. As someone often seen on the terraces at the Shay for the football you should know that the football club sold Jamie Vardy for a decent return which is the main reason why the club shows as having cash in the bank.
It has been proven that FCHT is self sufficient, at least at the moment. This doesnt mean that it wont become dependent on the club owners putting in their own money but so far, so good. Not an ideal situation but I have become to realise that the owners are men of principle and not full of wind!

1. Well if there was plan to sell the Shay to TA he's failed miserably then He started discussion about the annex and it progressed to the ground. If the council had intentions of selling the ground the offer would have been accepted.
2. The Town BOD haven't helped keep our heads above water. They put 34k in to start up the club, nothing at all since then. Abbott is pumping money in to keep HRLFC going.
3. It was at the meeting that the Town board had at the Shay. Why would they make public comments when they're pursuing legal action? As I said, Abbott has made himself look foolish. 2-3 weeks was it? Yes the negotiations started in private, but the second he came public with it was the beginning of the end for him. Since then Reactiv have tweeted every media company you can think of with this. "@SkyNews hey guys, big story coming in Halifax. Reactiv creating jobs in the local community through buying The Shay. bit.ly/17R8GZY"
Obviously cold calling isn't enough for Reactiv, show he's had to resort to cold tweeting.
