I see that a new website has been set up to monitor the Shay sale: www.theshay.org I've had a quick look at it and, from what I can see, it's content is accurate and informative. Fair enough. I'll now sit back and see how quickly it fills up with hatred, mis-information and bile although I have a feeling that whoever set this up (suspect Bubba personally) has done so to distance themselves from the embarrassing rubbish which shaymen.net contains and bring the debate back to an adult level.

Surely if a website is set up to inform of developments with regards to The Shay, it should be the current owners that do it - Calderdale Council!

This is clearly a town fan's work, it has the same agenda but less of the bile!

The Council really need to step forward and the town fans need to realise their position in the big scheme of things - tenents with little or no say!

Take a look at the photo of Alfreton Towns ground in the Courier, the Town Luddites would prefer to play in a Stadium like that?
They are being offered a Stadium fit for purpose, do they want it?

Why is the current 'stadium' not fit for purpose? The only part that is not fit is the pitch.

If you can't be bothered to read through the posts to realise why it isn't fit for purpose - jog on! It's been explained enough times. It's not all about the two teams playing on the pitch!

SO the Shay is perfect then?
No it isn't , for either team and it needs some investment which will NOT be coming from the council.
I'm afraid it's time to wake up and smell the coffee (from a new coffee shop perhaps), none of want to see the demise of the ground that has brought some many memories but it will only deteriorate if new funding is not found.

Please can we start refering to it by its correct name please......

Just goes to prove the point we have all being trying to make, Town fans are happy with a deterorting stadium, a pitch that can't last the winter, in fact to live in their own little backward world.
Next Sunday the Stadium is going to host 8000 people, how many do you think will go away with favourable impresions of "The New Shay"?
