| Today we turned a bit of a corner (albeit a small one) - at 19-24 I did think that was it... It wasn't the best team display but Batley are a good side and did show a glimmer of our potential at times. We were winning for fun at the start of the season, and we have 2 games to get some of that form back going into the playoffs.
Barring anything really stupid (in which case it's game over anyway), we're pretty guaranteed a 3rd or 4th place finish, so more than one bite of the cherry in the playoffs (if we lose to Fev/Sheffield) as well.
I'll keep on supporting my team until the fat lady sings...

With the form you're in, I can't see anything but a healthy Leigh win. You're in for a battle though!

| It was good to see Miles Greenwood have a strong game, I didn't think he'd ever get back to full fitness after the mid week injury at Widnes a few years back, but he looked sharp and strong in defence and attack, I was a little sad that him and Whitey left us, I thought we had an exciting back three with those two and Rob.
Has Fieldhouse broken his nose or lost a few teeth? A bizarre incident.
Disappointing to see the shoves and altercation outside the South stand Bar, I guess there's two sets of frustrated fans that support teams a bit behind Sheffield, Leigh and Featherstone at present.

And as Chris points out, all those reports about the police attending a minor incident where no action was taken, its almost as if they have someone sat watching twitter, as soon as the police helicopter people tweet that they've been in Calderdale, they write a "report" for the website detailing nothing more than what the 140 character tweet of the police said, but padded out into a paragraph. then what REALLY riles me up (I need to get out more) is that they use the same image EVERY time.'"
There's nowt wrong with Alan Partridge, he's a Marillion fan & namechecks them in his Alpha Papa movie
As for the courier, christ almighty, folks still purchase/log-onto that utter tripe ???????

So it was good to see Greenwod have a good game, disapointing about the scuffle, a bit behind other teams, any positives for Fax?
I understand the referee has been put on report for decking Fieldhouse.

| It was a game that the losing team would be disappointed with, but it was a game that I've enjoyed most for quite a while. Perhaps felt a little different with 5 minutes to go and 5 points down...

Well said,
Walked out with a couple of Batley fans, we had a laugh at the scuffle and one of them said "I don't mind losing if we play like that"
That's what sport is about, never mind moaning and groaning, it's a game, lets enjoy it.

| In the East Stand, the Batley supporters (there were quite a few) were very generous in support of their team after the game (which does say something about us as well!), and no hint of any animosity between anyone either.
I'm getting confused what folk expect now. We're a very decent Championship team, have some cracking players at our level, and (the last few games apart) have delivered the goods. It's not as exciting (both good and bad!) than the Calland days, and we really do need to build towards 2014/15/16, but we need to put faith in our BoD to get us in the right place, right time.

| Third v Fourth, the lead changed hands 6 or 7 times during the game, 53 points scored and the result was still in doubt untill the final hooter.
What's to complain about from today.

| C'mon guys lets not get carried away because of a result... I'm chuffed we won and had we lost ill still be there cheering them on. However for 70 minutes of that game we were playing dumb, boring rugby with little to no invention from the three pivots with ball in hand. Our attack was pretty flat but our defence in the main barr a couple of brain f@rts kept us in the game. A better attacking side would probably have been comfortably ahead against us by HT.
I still genuinely believe KH has done as much with Fax as he probably can and today could very easily have been a defeat and i personally think the best team lost, but thats sport!! Again we had a chopped and changed side which has managed somehow to snatch victory out of the jaws of defeat. I thought we were poor barr the last 10 minutes and the referee should be thanked for taking Fieldhouse out as Patterson more than had a hand in our two final tries which I doubt Fieldhouse would have.
I'm delighted we won but let's not get ahead of ourselves and think that we are now world beaters again. I will always take a win but we were poor for most of the game.
