But Fev are leathering sides in the first half of games & easing off in the second half when games are already won. Look at the column in the league table that comes under the heading "points difference", that also is more than critical come the final run in. Having not gone to any of our away games so far & won't be able to make Batley on thursday I guess i'm in no position to really pass judgement on performances but we do appear to be starting slowly in games.
I noticed a few Fev players not getting in their team at the moment in Mick Haley, Tim Spears & Sam Smeaton to name a few due to injuries yet they seem unaffected by their losses & have recruited very well, they have started the season ominously.
I hope we can win at Batley otherwise i'm gonna begin to question why we're not putting sides away & I don't disrespect any team in this league either.

Quote: justthebasicfax "Dear oh dear! only 4 wins from 4? shocking stuff.
Or....
Its February for gawds sake! its bleeding awful weather and pitches, and i for one think were playing the conditions very well and playing to our strengths, which incidently have served the previous two comp winners quite well.'"

My thoughts exactly. 4 wins out of 4 in poor conditions is brilliant, the conditions are exactly the same for the opposition.

Although Callands Halifax sides was always very exciting, they was also very unpredictable.

Boring rugby, but still unbeaten... no one can knock that.

Whilst winning 4 from 4 is great the other side is that we need to bring in the crowds, winning with nobody watching is not going to make the club sustainable so win all our games but go bust due to financial issues. Crowds have dropped from around 2,300 to under 2000, hopefully better weather will make a difference.

Heres my two penneth, we are 4 from 4, im happy with that, yes its not the most exciting rugby but so far its getting results, well wins, I wouldnt say ive left a game this season impressed yet. Last season we struggled against all the top teams. I think after winning the final we didnt beat a top 4 team all season, not sure if this is correct but think it is.

So I'll see how we go against top opposition before making a judgement. If our style works against the top teams and we compete then im happy to grind out wins the way we are. If our style only gets results against teams ( no offence) who wont be around the top 4/5 but isnt getting us wins or close in the so called big games then yea I can see a problem. I'll put up with this style of rugby if it makes us competitive against teams in the race for cups etc.

If its like last season and with the exception of the final we dont get wins from top teams then our style of play might affect the crowds. Lets be honest so far we've ground out wins. Thursday will tell us a lot more I suspect and give us a clue as to where we are at.

Batley on Thursday will be a much higher intensity effort.

The coaching staff of both clubs will know it's an important fixture that could really kick them on.

The players from both clubs will know it's going to be a tough game and should be ready for it mentally.

I predict a massive encounter where anything could happen.

Light the blue touch paper comes to mind.

Who will come out on top after the collision????

Can't wait allready, I don't think this one will be boring.

We didn't come out of the big scrap at their place too shabby last season i don't think. We let them get the win when we'd made a winning position for ourselves. This doggies lot need turning over.
