Just got in and watched it back. We absolutely deserved to win, defence was solid and forget the eagles fighting their way back. We smashed them open in the first half, held out till just before half time, got crucified after the break by penalties and without doubt we would have folded last year.

That was a ferocious game both teams hit hard and it was played at a very fast pace, Sheffield are a good team and will for me be right up with us and Fev but we withstood a barrage at our line and after Brambani got sin binned ran away with it.
Our defence was very good but it was out attack on the fringes that caught my eye, Sheffield struggled to cope with that.
They got back into it by the Ref given ball stelas when they had lost the ball, in a tight game (at the time) posession was everything.
Penky was on fire, manning was superb and all the lads did well, great effort guys keep it going.

We are looking pretty darn good arnt we? The best thing about it is that we are still going to get even better as the players get to know each other more. What about that defence, at times it was just brillaint with some great last ditch efforts and the players working really hard for each other.

Those who think Harrison would take the edge off our attack while improving the defence, still think that? For me we look just as good in attack, if not better, than we have over recent seasons. Personally i think if Hwer had of figured out the offside rule we would of dominated the game before the final 20 anyway. Sheffield are a good team and they knew they would come back at us but to be honest they threw everything they had at us and it wasnt anywhere near good enough.

Its still early days though but things are looking promising and thats 3 points we got that a lot of other teams wont get.

maybe not 24pts but had a good nine min spell in first half with three tries and i think he comitted the foul just as fax were breaking away from a long goal line defence spell and would have scored same as did previously.

Was going nuts about the sin binning. Barking up the wrong tree if you ask me as there was no doubt at all about it, and his anger should have been directed at his own player's stupidity instead of the referee.

Well that was a great win wasnt it? I was getting regular updates from Tony Abbott and it got a bit tight at one stage BUT

Karl has put together a squad that can play different ways against different sides according to the tactics required and as previous posters have said one that ought to get better as the season goes on

Next its Keighley on Good Friday. . . just a thought but given all thats going on at Odsal if we had a really good attendance, might it prove to some folks that we are a club thats good both on and off the field?
