On the subject of funding, you're spot on about having your own ground and not having franchises running everything inside it. The problem we have at Fax is that if we got 10k in we would n't make any money from what is sold in the ground and this is a major frustration, but, if it wasn't for the Council I doubt we'd have a ground or a club now. So it's a balancing act which the board are doing a great job with.

Agree, so in conclusion whilst Fevs support is lower they have higher income from the ground as they own it hence why they can compete with the top end clubs at our level regards players wages . fair enough.
They are on a high at the moment what goes around comes around as they say.

Interested to know who you think are the top end clubs. Im pretty confident our crowds will show a big increase next season with us very near to 1k season tickets sold with 2 weeks to go. The board done a great job with marketing this they know that each fan will only have a certain amount to spend per game day. so if they havent got a season ticket and pay £15 in there unlikely to spend much more. but having bought a season ticket people will probably still have the £15 to spend on ale and food and all this goes to the club

Well aye, and to a large extent I agree F4L.
Unlike Dez at Barrow who was amongst other misdemeanours, paying players out of the envelope etc , which when that model stops off comes the wheels etc, our chairman is different.
Mark's approach was to chuck some 'start up' cash in and get the wheels moving - (he's not put any money in this season or 2011). Then use his nouse to shake the business and start to develop it. And that's where my fear lies. Cos if he left, all his business acumen and contacts within the game and business contacts away from the game would go with him and I'm not entirely sure there are people of that calibre or with those kind of contacts to continue that successful work at Fev. If this was the case then I fear Fev would 'slip backwards'.
But until then, I shall enjoy the goodtimes - cos I've suffered the crapola for many a year!!!

Top end I believe is us, Leigh and you lot based on support. Then Batley and Sheffield based on squads and coaches.
