Not being disrespectful to Feb but Dom loved his time with us .

Right, I'm with you. He's a player who most rate very highly and who most would have loved to see back at fax but until he signs for another team then he's not wanted by the coach! icon_lol.gif icon_lol.gif icon_lol.gif

In all reality I don't think Karl got the option here. As soon as Tonka declared his intentions, it gave our lot the time to sort stuff with plenty of advanced notice. And that's not disputing he didn't enjoy his time at Fax - pretty much as Tonka has at Fev. Players move on. C'est la vie. Ya win some, ya lose some. Stuff happens.

I'll be honest as well, If he did want to return to England I just can't see Maloney going anywhere else except Fax or Super League. Not because we're just that amazing, but because he's familiar with the club and familiar with the players etc

And lets be honest, if we haven't shown interest I'd be amazed.

The same reasons I can't see Tonks coming to play for us!!!

Well fair do's and I understand your sentiment. Fev, understandably, aren't going to release this info until after the Grand Final and/or it is legally pertinent to do so.
But Dom is a Fev lad next season. Fair do's if you don't want to accept that just yet - we'll just wait for the "fullness of time"!!

Well I would have thought and hope he goes to the Giants rather than Fax. He's a cracking lad and I really hope he gets a chance in SL.
But if the Giants move doesn't come off there is an offer on the table from Fax!

Well if everyone has theirt honest heads on .......

Even if Halifax had made a offer to Dom and he did enjoy his time here, perhaps he has been offered more money, Money talks and BS walks and all that, He might want to go play with the most consistent team of the last 2 years, He might feel that Daryl has more to offer to him, It might be more local to where he is living. Perhaps Halifax aint made a offer.

As much as it pains me to say it but not Every player in Championships thinks HRLFC is the a Holy Grail.

Remember when the prophets on here predicted Fev would be "stuffed up when we lost Zac n Briggsy?? icon_lol.gif

- Take your point on Tonka. He's a real beast and a cracking lad! Form prop at the mo.

However, - if you don't get Tonks.........

They certainly will Faxcar.

I'll go out on a limb here and even at this ridiculously early stage I'm going to predict a Fev/Fax 1 & 2 next year with Batley in the mix too!

Leigh will need to settle Dez can't use any more brown envelopes, Sheffield are never in a hurry to recruit and always take their time so they remain the "wild card". Toulouse are gone so there's no more speculation of them filling up a team of Aussies to bid for a licence leaving the 2 promoted teams, York and Hunslet and maybe even Dews - all of whom will have a team to claim a scalp or two but will probably not have the consistency to mount a longer challenge.

Robin.
I think Fev are ahead of the pack in the terms of being a TEAM.
As you know their success hasn't just happened by chance.
Since DP has been there he has been building for a few years now.(With the support of the BOD etc.)
Not content with what he has he is now tweaking here fine tune there etc to constantly keep the side fresh and ever improving as a TEAM.
Fax are some way off the pace in this context, the former coach has gone and allthough there will be a fair few of that side remaining they will be under a new leader who will play a different type of game along with a number of new signings.
From the off I expect Fax to be competative and there or there abouts but it will take time for them to gell and get to their best as a TEAM.

IMO the missing keystone for our team is just 2 big forwards to complement Macca & Barlow. 2 players like a young Frank Watene and Jim Gannon would be ideal.

Get these and 2012 will be very interesting as behind the scrum we have recruited well and I can't see many weak points.

I would like to see 3 more big forwards which will give Sam the option to play at 13 against certain teams and still have the other 4 for the front row spots giving us 5 big guys on the field at all times against bigger oposition.
Injuries will know doubt happen and this would give us some cover.

Against other teams who do not have as much muscle one of the big guys can be rested and the 13 spot can be taken by a ball handling loose forward like Bob Beswick (if he signs)or a running loose forward like Shad played when Miles was at fullback.

Ah the armchair coach icon_lol.gif

Ah the armchair coach I don't think Karl will be that pragmatic, I think he'll have one man for the job, like at Batley with Lindsay. A player with a similar style as Pat Weisner would be on my list.

I agree with this Robin I can't see anyone other than fev and fax as the top 2 teams next year, however Sheffield and batley will be chasing at our heels.
