| Thank you Matt for all you put in over the last few years you made "on the edge rugby league" live again.
All the best for the future.

| You've given excellent service to the club, Matt, and I wish you all the best. Fax have produced the most entertaining rugby since the late 90s .... 3 finals in 3 years ..... and players wanting to stay with the club is usually the ultimate endorsement about a coach's abilities. Need I say more?
And you can rest assured that whichever club you return to the Shay with, you'll get a fantastic reception ... it's the least you deserve.
Cheers
TF

| After watching yesterday's BBC game in the Challenge cup, my faith has been slightly restored in the ways in which a RL game can be won, yes, throwing the ball around, tries scored from your own half, desire to out-score the opposition despite long periods in the game without the ball & conceding points in the interim period.
All traits that have been part & parcel of the Matt Calland years as head coach at Halifax RLFC. Entertaining rugby league.
I've made no secret that I've been a fan of the style of play over recent seasons at Halifax, we've had three great days out for the finals in what I as a long-term supporter consider our most successful period since the Chris Anderson years. I also believe that we're currently selecting more local lads in the first team than we've done for a long time, something which I'm a big believer in.
Thanks Matt, I'd rather judge a RL coach on what goes on on the field rather than off it, I hope your "Halifax years" will enhance your own C.V. and you get a decent job still in coaching RL when the dust has settled. You've been a breath of fresh air the way you've allowed your players to express themselves compared to the robots we see at other clubs currently.
How ironic that the roller-coaster ride that was you coaching Halifax RLFC should end in the capital of roller-coaster rides, Blackpool.
Thanks for the great days out being a Halifax RLFC supporter due to your brand of RL brought to this club of ours & good luck to you in the future.
