| Quote: Waddy-Fax "It makes me sad actually watching sky sports now and seeing the cameras at Widnes, hundreds of fans all at the mercy of some blokes in suits in an office, theres no romance in the sport now at our level, sport should be about sport. Look at football and the minnows like Blackpool and Burnley who earned the right for a fairytale journey into the top tier, even if its for 1 or 2 years, our sport doesn't have that anymore and its quite sad actually as that for me defines what sport is all about.'"
quite right too mate but,if useless tools like US can see that, why can't the clever people who are supposed to be running OUR sport see it ??????

He looked like a man announcing a special offer at Quick Save.

| What was that tripe Lewis was saying about licensing, stability, youth development and Super League Stadia, then followed by Sky Sports talking about administrations and financial difficulties. If anyone is surprised, i dont believe them. The ONLY way those muppets can have any ounce of credibility is to kick Cas and Wakey out, let us in, and give the development franchises (expansion) a timeframe to sort themselves out. The games a joke and i feel embarrassed that clubs are made to make themselves ladys of the night to these pimps.
Give us back our dignity you cretins.

ITS NOT ABOUT CREDIBILITY WITH THE RFL THOUGH IS IT....
MONEY MONEY MONEY.
WE DONT HAVE ENOUGH AT THE MINUTE. SIMPLES.
GOING BY THE RESULT TODAY AND THE FACT THAT FAX TICK ALL THE BOXES, YES, THEY SHOULD KICK OUT CAS, WAKEY OR KR IN JULY.
UNFORTUNATLY, CAS WILL GIVE THEM ANOTHER MOCK UP DESIGN OF THEIR NEW STADIUM, WAKEY WILL MOVE TO BARNSLEY AND KR HAVE MADE THE 'HIGHEST PROFILE SIGNING' IN SUPER LEAGUE ERA, APPARANTLY!

I have been brought up where in sprt its all about what you achieve on the field, no one remembers second place, everyone remembers the epic victories, the last minute drop goals, the undergogs triumphing. Whats to remember in this game now?'"
I think promotion and relagation should hae stayed but it aint here now,so guess you wont want to get a franchise then all on here now moaning.Look at it like this would u all still be moaning about p+R if u would have got the nod today????? Because i think u have a very good chance of going head to head with some of the other super league clubs, and hope u make it

franchising does not equal a non competative league or a crap international team.'"
I agree a little with what you say but the Aussies merged and tinkered with their set up to make it a stronger proposition for all concerned including youth player development and fan atteraction by merging teams together. Their criteria for bringing a new franchise into their league is much more stringent too regarding turnover, salary cap etc. When they do something it's because it benefits the comp and isn't because Murdoch says do it.
Can we honestly say that expansion clubs such as Crusaders, Harlequins (20 odd years) and dare I say it Catalans bring something extra special to the game / SL that a rejuvinated Oldham, Featherstone, Barrow, Leigh or Halifax would bring to the game if they were allowed to prosper given the same resources and backing from the Rugby League?
If the Aussies do it it appears to be for the right reasons and is well thought out, we do it trying to replicate their blueprint for success and tends to end up looking like a watered down, half cocked version with little or no thought given to the execution or reasoning.

Well thanks for that doubled edged peice of hope, well wish, or whatever it is. RL fans and clubs selling their souls? hmmm Yes! would we sell ours? Yes. Should we have to? a resounding No....
And no double digit IQ'd pundit, ex pro or fan will ever convince me this is for the good of our game. What did Phil Clarke say last night, we tried promotion and relegation for 100 years and it didnt work, what a complete and utter berk he is, he wasn't saying that so long since, my guess is he knows whos paying his wages now. Ring fencing, subsidising, closing shop, whatever you call it, doesn't breed competition, it breeds complacency, ill give the game 5-10 years it sees more infrastructure changes to repair the mess and restore its dignity. It will most likely be when the game is skint and Sky has got bored of funding this circus and moved onto Ultimate Street Dance Competitions. Hoors.

| Tell you what makes me sad along with this.. Looking on the HALIFAX website to see the lead story being "watch Widnes celebrate as they were given the nod". Why is that up on there? Have the RFL made us put it up or something? Talk about kicking you when your down!
