| Quote: Fevxr2i "Cooke rumour dismissed by Daryl in local paper
Hemingway has come on trial, phoned the club asking for trial and has come for a month and gets a chance today against Oldham so not signed
Beswick apparently done
Pryce - dunno where that one came from'"
The cooke and Pryc thing was only Rob Hemmi having a laugh. It's amazing how many latched onto to BOTH baits - I mean, Leon Pryce for heavens sake!

| well yes, he will if Fax pay him his contract as agreed at point of signing! If the club insist on re-negotiating, he's a free agent.
I'm not dreaming owd cock, I believe he'll be a fax player this season. But then again, I thought Briggsy would be at Fev!!! what do I know eh?

Why would you think a quality player like Briggsy would hang around at Fev??
Shad moved from us and no one was surprised!

| Because Briggsy and the BoD hadn't had anything substantial on the table and Briggsy and his dad have repeatedly said he'd be staying another season.
Briggsy did us a favour by signing an extention. He is obvious quality and it was nailed on a SL club would eventually come knocking. The extention to his contract gave our BoD the bargaining to nail a cracking fee. Briggsy himself was happy to engage in this process.
What surprised me was that I expected this move to be seasled much earlier than it was - so when no team came up with the wonga, Daryl and team expected us to have Briggsy onboard this season. But - to clubs like ours, we can't turn down a wedge of that size and when the offer did eventually come from Bradford, planning for a post-Briggs Fev started! C'est la vie!

Good on Fev for getting a fee for him. You can now use most of that to get Beswick from us!

Now Briggs gone to S/l I think Fax have arguably the best 6 in the Championship in Welsh international Danny Jones.
Will be interesting to see how the Fev v Fax match up goes this season.

| It will be a fascinating series again this year and I'm kind of expectng both clubs in the top 3. Re No6s, - I'm a fan of young Grimmer at Hunslet - I thgink with a moving pack he'd knock seven holes out of most defences at this level!
Depends how the stand off situation is to be resolved at Fev. I can't see any real quality available so Kainy will prob slot in and the search can then widen for a 9!
Like i said earlier - it would have been much better for Briggsy to have left in Sept - we'll plug the gap but considering we've got Barrow and Widnes and York (3 teams of our league) there's no 'easing in' time!
This is when a coach comes into his own!
Niceto actually be talking rugby again!

MC must resist this as much as possible, IMO he is a crucial player for Fax;
He can rotata with Penky
Good cover for Loose and 6
Fanatastic kicking game
Cracking pair of hands with arguably the best ball distrubution skills in the team
Work rate in defence consistently high
If it's a choice of picking who to chop Bob must be last on that list! He's worth the money....

| Daryl spoke to us yesterday. Beswick is the kind of player he'd want and is one of those players who have declined to accept a reduced contract, However, he has agreed to 'in principle (whatever that means) to remain at Fax. He is as I type 'under contract' and cannot be approached by Fev. Unless Fax change the terms of his contract (in which case would become a freebie), he remains a fax player. Daryl does not anticipate that this will change. Hope this helps.

Thacks by a country mile I rate Jones highly though do think he may be better suited to 7 with Black on the frindges at 6 then the other way around!

Just out of interest if Bob is under contract how did Daryl speak to him to ascertain that he is 'in principle' staying at fax. If he is as you say under contract then no contact should have been made as he remains a Halifax player. (illegal approach from Fev ????) Also I am sure Halifax would much rather pay his contract than release him to a rival club in the same league as a freebie. Would Man Utd have let Wayne Rooney leave for nothing to Man City .......

| But he can speak to Bob if Halifax have given Bob permission to speak to other clubs. We don't know if this is the case, and nor should we.

Awkward start for you in the NRC.
Mind you Leigh's first 6 Championship fixtures are:-
Featherstone H
Barrow A
Widnes H
Halifax A
Barrow H
Featherstone A
So we'd better have our act together by then!
