| Am I right in thinking the North Stand is completely shut?
If that is the case then the atmosphere in the South Stand could get rather tasty and the club need to get on top of it in plenty of time. Making people know that anyone who does lower themselves to the Fev thug's level (like some part time fans who mainly follow FCHT have done in the past against Widnes and Leigh) then they will be banned from Fax games indefinitely.
We don't want a repeat of what happened to Dave Singer nor anything to happen like that inside the ground in front of the TV cameras. It won't help our SL bid nor the image of Rugby League whatsoever, I hope people at the club have thought about what could happen.

I agree 100% the club need to get on top of this as the 1 thing we don't want is our great clubs name being dragged through the mud. When will the North stand be sorted?

Good idea as I am worried about this one, said it before it will only take one loudmouth and things may kick off.
Thing is we have [ifew[/i hotheads and Fev have a lot of loudmouths!

| If its a Sky game, there won't be much bother as it will be a Thursday night & most fans will have consumed little alcohol. I noticed for the Town v FC United game, properly trained door supervisors & police were deployed. The police were filming the fans on their camcorders throughout the game.
A small police presence in the South Stand with Camcorders will stamp out any bother.

The police brought in the camcorders outside the Lord Rodney on GF day when it bubbled & fizzed before the scuffles started, We were made to feel like football hooligans, but if it's used to nail the real culprits then I don't mind.
My mate who goes all over the country watching Fev ( some of our posters met him on GF day ) isn't coming to the home game at the Shay because, and I quote him " word has it that there are Halifax fans looking for retribution ". I've tried to convince him that I know nothing of this sort of talk, but it saddens me to think that a friend of mine fears coming to our stadium to watch his team. He's a decent bloke who likes to take his kids to the game, he likes to have a bit of banter with opposition fans and loves his team, just like most of us do, poor state of affairs.

| There wont be any trouble at the home game. |Its the game over there where the Fev `fans` may turn up thinking we will turn up for revenge. I have said it before and i will say it again this is a great opportunity for both clubs to get together and make a big deal about it been a family sport. How about getting someone to sponsor some t-shirts and sell that at a fiver or so. This seems a good idea and would generate publicity for both teams. Publicity of the right kind. How about a shake handathon or something where before or after the game where the talking is done on the field a shaking of hands with the opposition fans showing a sign of solidarity between the two sets of fans saying we will not tolerate thuggish behavior in our sport.

Am inclined to agree with you, or at least i hope so. They'd bring what? few hundred at most! mainly decent people, families, women, children, don't think its fair to tar them all and herd them like cattle, we also have trust that Fev have been doing work to make their unsavoury element unwelcome at their games. Hope there isn't an overreaction, am sure its not what the Singer family would want to see or be hearing about.

| At the last game when we played Fev at home it got a bit rowdy in the southstand, there were posters from Fev on this forum saying how "they hadn't come for trouble but there were a fair few in the group including some ex players who wouldn't shy away from a dust up". I could go back and find the posts but I cant really be bothered.
I think something does need to be done ahead of the game, perhaps make it all ticket, may hit the attendance but will stop people just wanting to turn up looking for something from been able to,

I had an issue with a p!ssed up neanderthol from Fev and that was a Thursday night at the home game. I wasn't even wearing Fax colours I had Batley hoodie on. If people want to get drunk they will whatever day/time..

| If its gonna happen it'l happen, there is nothing the police or the club can do to prevent it. I really do hope it doesn't but Fevf fans are in the south stand then it is more than likely going to kick off. Fair enough not all Fev fans are idiots but id say a good 80% majority are. From my experience of the grand final 80% of the Fev fans i came across were complete muppets just wanting a scrap!

| I've posted before that I won't be going to Fev this season. As for the home game I hope there will be segregation in the ground - normally I'm not bothered about it. Last season I sat in the East Stand so I was away from potential trouble as in the 09 season there were a couple of idiots from Fev, one even throwing punches. For some reason the stewards allowed him to stay in the ground and he got on the pitch at the end of the game. And no one did anything. Some friends had an encounter with a few Fev fans after that game too.
Even if there is segregation there isn't a lot that people can do about what happens outside the ground. Unless they treat Fev supporters like football hooligans and escort them all to and from the ground. But that shouldn't happen in RL and the Fev supporters that do come for the rugby and a good day out should not be made to feel like trouble makers. It's such a shame that the actions of a few idiots has led to the game that we should all be looking forward to as the replay of the GF being talked about in this way. But the focus is on what is going to happen off it.
I seriously hope that there won't be any trouble at either of the Fev games. There was enough detraction from the game itself straight after the GF and I don't think it needs anymore.
