So we didn't make it to two NRC in 2 years winning one of them? Not a bad record if you ask me. Widnes are bringing some very talented youngsters through their ranks into the first team. Something a couple of other teams should be trying. This is what the RFL will want from a team they choose to come into superleague, not a team made up of has beens and aussies just here for a nice retirement package. Get over it. We're building for the future and its all going to pay off so say what you like because as a Widnes fan, in our current situation, i couldnt give a what you think 
Sorry to all the decent fans on this forum, people like this wind me up. We've been given guidelines to follow in order to get to SL and we've followed them exceptionally well. |

MATE, I NO RULES ARE RULES AND GUIDELINES ARE GUIDELINES, BUT IF/WHEN WIDNES GET THE FRANCHISE, THEY WILL GO DOWN THE SAME OLD 'HAS BEEN AUSSIE 'ROUTE THAT MOST OF YOUR FANS ARE PROBABLY LOOKING FORWARD TO!
IF YOUR SO CALLED SUPER YOUNGSTERS AT WIDNES ARE NT EVEN GOOD ENOUGH TO FORCE THEMSELVES IN TO A CHAMPIONSHIP TEAM FINISHING 5TH, AND GETTING SPANKED OUT OF THE PLAYOFFS. THEN HOW DO YOU EXPECT HEM TO GET ON IN THE 'BIG BOYS LEAGUE'.

The youngsters we've brought through over the last couple of years like Flynn, Craven, Houghton and the younger lads we have at the club like Ben Kav, Thacks, Allen and Gerrard have been some of our better players imo over the last couple of years and would take this lot into superleague. Its not a case of widnes having a couple of youngsters in their side now just so they can get a franchise, its a case of bringing them through now at an early age, developing them and taking them with us into superleague. The club has invested alot of time and money into youth, more than half of the SL clubs and they will not see it go to waste.

In an interview with Des he said Clarkey was only in charge on match days which, if the case, is an even more stunning victory. Although I'll give Widnes their due, there's no way Cullen's head could have been even remotely on his job this season.

Big point on these threads about Widnes side that people say isn't good enough... Next season is the last of the franchise from 2008! Cru & Salford went up, next year how many players from 2008 NL1 final will be in their squads? Never mind 1st 17!

While you're right I feel a season of apathy for Widnes next year which I think is the point Littlerich was making. In fact I think that's what's happened to some extent this year. |
