| On fans there was great banter and laughing songs etc, but was at other end of stand from Fax fans, so you wouldn't of got a word of it
On main topic!
To me and a few it simply seem's Calland has no plan B whatsoever! Proved by the fact that Tamghart and Watene were just left out there despite being smashed every run, seems as if Calland was simplyhoping that their usual impac would come but nothing changed at all!
Your plan A is great don't get me wrong, but now people can defend it! Where's the plan B?

| Quote: Encouraged "Although I couldn't make it over last night, I fear that the momentum has indeed shifted towards Widnes and fair play to them.
I must continue to say though, when we are underconfident, we need that STAND OFF even more than ever. How we expect to win this league with our hot-potch formations of (undoubtedly skillful and talented) half backs goodness only knows. The pack needs to know we have a focused rugby brain at first receiver each time knowing we will go forward at the right time and in the right areas.
Not a criticism as such but Mr Calland, is there really no option available to fill this absolutely critical role? Comments like 'play such-and-such at stand-off' are well intended I have no doubt, but if we are to win this league and beat an emerging Widnes team, we need to get a grip and more importantly, some direction and marshalling on the pitch.
Who do you need Mr Calland and how do you intend to get him? Nobody will be put out or offended by bringing in such a man as it is absolutely a pre-requisite. It's gonna be a rough ride if not.
Sorry, moan over.
Unfortunately my learned team leader colleague, you are are right, we have no plan B, all Cullen does is slow us down, shut down the hookers sniping, and tells his guys to sheperd Ben and Bob, we lack a leader, organiser, someone to restore discipline. Cullen has the edge coaching at the minute, every stat points to it, form, experience etc.. the Widnes form early on was nothing to do with him.
Our boys are gonna have to play 100% commited, disciplined, power RL, quick plays and hope we get the rub in these games... Its upto them and only them, we better get a stand off next year and a centre, I'd start with Pat Walker at Dewsbury, nothing flash, just a good solid organiser and distributor who looks up.

Plan B is in place and it's a cunning one..................
Purposely show weakness by loss of form.
Scrape through to the GF by purposely putting in below par performances.
Revert back to Plan A - game tactics played from February to May.
Blow the Mutants away in the final.
Clever man that Calland.

| Well I think Holroyd would have made difference last night.
Its not about his kicking game and putting us in good positions through that. Its about his leadership qualities on the field, and organising the team. Who was doing that last night? Absolutely no one, thats what we missed last night. An experienced player calming things down when things weren't going our way.
Holroyd was so much more to the team than someone who would put in good kicks to gain field position. He brought composure, organisation and leadership something which we didn't have las night.

I think you have a very valid point. When we were under the cosh there was no one around to take us around the field and relieve the pressure until we were more organised.

Different era, and different needs, but Karl Harrison was always very noticeable by his absence (we used to lose!) in the Fax team. We are missing a leader on the park.

Somebody "organising you" doesn't make you win the combat of a tackle, when a pack get a roll on you, some mouthy half back who's got awful defence himself doesn't make a blind bit of difference, sorry, disagree totally.
