I think the Chairman of Barrow is doing a great job in bulling the match up. He's paying the players wages so has every right to lambast them. In a brave move - his comments about Matt Calland can only serve to gee up his players if they get on board. It could also have the adverse effect in winding Calland up too. I like it. Fighting talk from a colourful Chairman. Bring it on !

Broadbent is the first to point fingers behind the sticks when tries are conceded, so I don't think he'd have any problem at all with Des' comments. A lot is very much tongue in cheek with Des and he must be doing a lot right - we've been in the top 2 for most of the season.

I think players need have their cards marked sometimes and personally have no problem at all with his comments. The players are being paid to perform to their best and like any other job, your boss has the right to say something if you are under-performing.

I liken his comments to Don King selling seats for a prize fight. The game has too few characters these days.

Close game this on the cards,Barrow are a good side but were lucky to come away with the win against Dewsbury.This was the fright they needed to keep them on track just like Halifax got against Sheffield.Halifax have a few injury problems with a wrist injury to Matt James and a head injury to Bob Beswick which needed stitching after the game.

I don't know, I think it'll only gee our players up. Isn't he an ex-footballer or used to own a football club? Says it all really.

To me the most significant letter in his whole statement is the first one, "I".
This to me signifies that he sees the Barrow team as his current favorite toy and his players as merely employees. What he should have said is "We".

There is no "I" in team!
