Im suprised about the Widnes crowd,even for a Saturday night against a Championship 1 team. Looks like the past few performances have affected the crowd.

That's right the 5000 crowd a week or two back had a lot of entries by free ticket.

we have about or near 2000 season ticket holders, so no league game will go under the 2300 mark i'd say. i don't think anyone was expecting a big crowd today after recent form, plus the bad weather, the england match and york bringing 20. it was never going to be a big crowd.

i am not one to make excuses.

The crowd was symptomatic of gnenerally most knock out games , with the attendances for the earlier rounds being lower than the average league game due to the 'all must pay' policy.

The only exceptions are when a lower tier team is drawn at home to a SL side , particularly one with a decent away support or one that gives the opportunity for a derby game.

....Which shows you have been running on effort rather than quality so far, which, don't worry, it's no bad thing. But as the great Howard Wilkinson once said "There is no substitute for quality, and in the end it's good quality which will shine through" ....
