Makes me wonder how much influence Scott Grix has on the signings, with Liam Finn rumoured to be assistant coach and Kyle wood and joe arundal joining all three having played with Scott at Wakefield, the 2017 season Wakefield finished 5th in super league and had a good season, bodes well for us having these experienced members added to our squad .

Brandon Douglas as signed for Sheffield. Strange one this because it was said that we beat off other championship sides for is signature then a month later we have dropped our interest. I wonder what went on to change our minds and will we now bring in a other prop instead or go with what we have got. Yes out of all those rumoured to be coming in from the various sources Douglas was the only one that’s I am aware of not to materialise. Edit:I should have mentioned Alex Foster.

According to him Fax had a “Big Ten” lined up which included BD but not Liam Whitton and with Cole Oakley being a late addition speculator / work in progress recruit not him either.

Doing the maths if the big ten was a accurate statement with 11 now signed - the above 2 then that leaves 1 more although TGC recently hinted that there could be another 2 without going into details and naming names.

The one other name linked with a season long loan by TGC was Ollie Roberts from the Giants..
What followed was OL subsequently said it was the first he had heard of it.
TGC was called out about it.
He replied he had his sources and was sticking by his comments.

Back to permanent signings the last Panthers post announcing the new coaching staff, 11 new signings, return to training etc with season tickets being next up may suggest that’s it for now.

I would be happy if Alex signed permanently it would put pressure on woodburn hall and Whitton too. He is a out and out fullback too which is rare these days but we will have to wait and see how the trail goes for both parties.

Hope we do sign him because if WH was to get injured we would be light in that area. Saying that can't see us having too much money left.

The decision on AW to make it a permanent deal or not needs to be made reasonably promptly as we wouldn’t want him getting too much insider information on our structures and game plays then leaving to one of our rivals.

I very rarely lament players moving on. Steve Nash's departure taught me that. But young Whitton is one I feel we let go way too early. There were plenty of games he could have been tried out. Much underrated for me.

The thing is that the messages coming out of the club, especially the last twitter post, would lead you to think that that is it - 11 signings.

I'd imagine it will be the Ollie Roberts loan signing but they will wait a while to save face after it got revealed and Roberts denied it. Hopefully the loan signings work out for us next season as this season it left us in a right mess after players got recalled.
