| Quote: Chris B "I hate doing this, defending the RFL, but I find the people that criticise them for implementing this system a little bit odd.
At the end of the day this is not a compulsory system. There are no quotas in place that have to be met. It is up to the club to take up the offer of a player in this way.
If it works then the Championship club potentially get a better quality of player than they might on a loan deal and if the player returns to the SL club for a spell then there is no need to renegotiate a new loan deal.
The SL club are in a position to offer the better quality players knowing they have an instant recall option and the players themselves get to benefit from playing.
You can see it being of great benefit to some of the smaller clubs in the league particularly.'"
But most of the time it is those smaller teams that miss out on the DR, They want their players in the better teams competeting, Widnes, Leigh, Batley had a few last year. Its more who you know and the contacts you have in the game, I.e Millward getting 4 DR players last year. Its a total Shambles and treats Championship clubs like a training ground, and that WE ARE NOT !!!
Full Loan deals is totally fine and should be the way it is done.

In principle dual reg aren't majorly different to loans so doesn't justify 'training ground' tag to one and not the other. Dual reg purely allows players to go between clubs which still happened on loan deals anyway just more month to month than week to week. Simple fact is you get better quality players on dual reg but risk the chance of losing them if other side gets injuries!

Would prefer not to have them at all. Loan deals were more solid, Matt James came to us on loan and went well for us, then he was recalled but at least it isn't one week in one week out. At the end of the day I have to trust in Calland & Hall.

Is that Dual Registered Trust... i.e. one week you love him and he's the messiah, the next he's grossly incompetent and must be sacked, then he's leading you to bigger and better things, then he's encouraging the drinking culture leading to dismal player performances and must go for the sake of the club....

| At the end of the day or ATEOTD if you like... Fax are entering into a dual registered agreement with Huddersfield for one reason.
It suits Fax to do this. If they didn't see any benefit then they wouldn't do it.

Who will be paying his wages? I thought we would be paying the wages.

On a loan you do and have to add it to cap for dual reg is mainly SL clubs responsibility, though think you pay a little bit not 100% sure on specifics!

I will check on that as I thought we paid most of the wage when they played for us but they don`t count on the cap.

If he is training Full-Time with them, and registered as their player then I would have thought they would pay the larger share.

| The fact that he's called Fairbank is good enough for me,even though I disagree with the DR system.Just so long as we dont have a few players on this system. One is enough,2 at a push.

| The good thing about this is that Halifax have a second rower of great potential.
This is a lad who has been Academy/Reserve Team Player of the Year for the last two seasons and who is highly rated by their coaching staff. One of them compared him to a young Nathan Hindmarsh.
I can see this being beneficial to all parties.

I totally agree with you mate, but let's play the system & see where it gets us. Karl is quoted in tonight's courier article and I agree with his comments. Interestingly, he says that Nathan Brown doesn't promote too many lads from within their academy. It's easier to promote a young back than a young forward nowadays I.M.O. they're so big in the forwards.

That'll go down well then
Tbf I don't thin Brown has done too bad he's given a few a chance whilst trying to be really competitive on the pitch (help boost crowds etc). Also until Sharp took over undone think Hudds academy was anything special so will take time to come to fruition.
