| Quote: Dr Chim Richalds "Can't disagree with this. I thought the reason we didn't score was simply because the Fax defence was awesome. Were Widnes awful? I didn't think so in the main. I don't think Brown was as potent as he has been and I disagree with the guy that said Brown is only okay. He definitely didn't look sharp yesterday with a number of kicks hitting the defender or being kicked too strong but he has been a fine performer for us this year and I expect him to improve again in this competition as he regains match sharpness. Ultimately you can't get away from the fact that we had loads of possession and Fax managed to keep us from crossing the line due to them being organised and up for the fight.
In terms of the referee I did think that you got unfairly punished a few times but then again I think we are at the advantage of playing with a referee that we are used to playing with.
Anyway, you still have by the far the most attractive setting for a ground in the English game and a brilliant set of fans. Good luck in this comp.'"
Good post Doc. Cheers!

| Now that was a proper game of rugby. None of this 65- 52 nonsense. Both defences worked really hard and this was all about taking your chances when they did come. Widnes took theirs well and we just fluffed our lines on attack at crucial times. That's part of the our learning curve and that will come in time under this current coaching set up.
It was frustrating at times when trying to determine some of the refs decisions(for both sides) but I am pretty certain the penalty count favoured Widnes and that creates additional pressure. I wish we could get Johnno back to the halves as his last tackle in-goal kicking is better that Murrells and he needs to have the ball in his hands as much as possible -especially on hot days, hard grounds and against big forwards. If we are lucky with injuries and our lads can keep this intensity up for the remaining games, we may turn a SL team over. That would be another major step forward. Great effort yesterday and proud to be a Fax fan.See you in Hull.

| What did you guys think of the attendance?
3,400 there if I'm correct and id say 500 or so were Widnes fans. I thought there may be more home fans, as i always remember that south stand being packed back in the Championship days- granted it may of been because of the in-completed stand.
What attendances do you normally get at home?

Our average home attendance in the league this year has been 1,973 which is up from 1,714 last year.

| At the time a bit disappointed with the crowd but taking all things (holidays etc) in to account not that bad, up on our average with the Widnes fans taken out. Hopefully another good performance at KR this week and the people of Halifax might wake up to the great work taking place down at The Shay.
Keep building and they will come.

| Although I agree the score did flatter Widnes,I think the Vikings looked very comfortable in containing us,our trouble is we don't score enough tries ,they say defences ein matches but we must start to score , I think we will win 2 games in the 8's ,not enough though and let's score some tries, I'm not fond of Leigh as a Club , but I like the way the play, cmon RM let's start to attack more , there's not much wrong with our defence .

| I don't think we have enough pace with Murrell in the halves to score lots of tries against the better teams, if he was at loose and Johnno and Robinson at halves we may score more, BUT, we would probably leak more as we'd have to drop one of the more defensive forwards, and I don't who that would be after Sunday.
Guess we will have to try and score more withe setup we have, after KR I think we'll be good enough to post some points, I think Sunday will again be a tough game for us.

Despite finishing fourth we had the third best points for, the third best points against and therefore the third best points difference.
I do not see us as a side who can not score tries, until Sunday nine wins on the trot, playing the full 80 minutes, thank you Steve Tyrer, beating at the time three of the teams that were above us and one easily, that would have gone above us.
I can't say when the last side we were nilled at home (bentlyman please help) but all I would say that on Sunday once again our defence was superb and if Widnes had not held down in that tackle and their defence had not been equally as good then we would have had at least three tries.
If's and buts don't count I know however I see no indication that suggests throughout the season we are a team that doesn't score tries.
Norman Bates is correct, dropping a defensive forward would leave gaps, and which one would be dropped.
Most of us prefer Salty at fullback and Ben at half back and indeed have often voiced our opinion where Scott is better employed but, I believe we have to accept that Richard has limited resources and has turned an under per orming team into an attack minded one.
Simply my humble opinion.
