We have been saying it for 25 years that we dont develop enough of our own players and coaches. Its important that we learn from the Aussies that come over but once again we are left short. At domestic level every time expansion gets involved the teams are full of Australians, nobody has the bottle to say....Hey! start at the bottom and develop your own players and we will help you along, its alway a quick fix for super league. The bottom line is SKY MONEY!'"
Stop been negative Would like to see Crusaders stick with the young Welsh kids but not at SL level.

It doesn't really matter who coaches the National team in my opinion, although I'd love it to be one of our own, but only if we're to be successful.
The problem lies with self centred clubs like Bradford Bulls, L-Strange, Menzies, Morrison and now Matt Orford ????
How can the future of the game be successful, this is one club who embraced summer rugby, rode on the back of their good times and fair play to them for that, but have had to move stadiums trice in recent years but how many Bradford kids are in their starting line up ?
The game at top level has become Australian-ised and it's a load of rubbish.
Leeds & Saints can boast some home grown talent and the Hull clubs and then you have to start thinking a bit don't you ?
Wakey recently won the academy final against Wiganbut they're in a right state again, poor stadium, financial worries and players being shipped out, I just hope they don't go and ruin their own kids by chucking them in at the deep end too soon.
Let's stop the foreign invasion and develop our kids, it's not too late.
Hell, we've even got a third rate referee from France in our top comp who somehow manages to get four nations fixtures and make a right mess of, I know loads of kids reffing the game now, what are their prospectsfor the future, are they also faced with competition with Welsh, French & dare I say it a Scottish ref for the top spots ?
National coach ????? We've got more to worry about than that when the players aren't good enough.

And wasnt one of the main arguements for Super League was that without the fear of relegation, clubs will be allowed to bring through their own kids?

Let's see where that is in 5 years time - it's only been a year. Granted, the early signs aren't good seeing that the purchasing of antipodeans continues unabated.

According to skytext, HKR have announced a loss just short of £1/2 million for past 2years, about £100k lower than other SL clubs.....someone isnt doing their sums correctly.
As for England coach... sad inditement of the game when their isnt a coach standing out for the position as they have in the NRL.

I don't think many clubs make money to be honest. Apart from the Leeds bosses it's got to be a hobby for most chairmen surely?

Send more kids to Australia is the short term fix, serious question, if Gary hadn't emigrated do you think Gareth would be at a SL club now?

| I blame the fans. Fans demand success, to get success you need the beat players, the best players are Australian.they produce a much bigger quantity of quality players than we are able to. That's just how it is.

According to the interview he did with the courier the other week it would appear he was just playing for the fun of it at the Brods with some mates rather than looking for ambition, so who knows.

But on the flip side, do you think the youth in this country don't take it as seriously once they get to a certain age because they think they could do the hard work only to be behind the pecking order of a past it Aussie?

Not really, 'cos that's too much of a generalisation.
If the clubs were responsible in their recruitment the problem wouldn't be that they're behind Aussies in the pecking order. The clubs get their heads together and make the rules collectively at the top level.
Sam Tompkins was pretty much down the pecking order at Wigan, he's doing OK.
