| Quote halifaxjohn="halifaxjohn"Your right Colin, I had never thought of it that way.
I will not go to Leigh as they don't do chips. Workingtons were poor but at least they do them so I will go under protest.
Sheffield, I hate the place and as they don't do chips it will not worry me not going.
I've wasted four trips to Toulouse as they don't do chips so I will be very cross if they are allowed back into our league.
Batley and Keighley you can expect my full support.
As Nelson famously said "I see no Chips"

No Chips at Leigh John, I will fry you a plate full at Caroli Land, we can't have you not visiting the LSV

| What is a club like Halifax supposed to do? Find its own second team? How? The old A team system was widespread amongst all the clubs - it was competitive. What we have today is a shambles of a reserve grade comp which is now not worth the investment - especially for a club competing in The Championship on limited resources.
Sometimes you have to go with the flow until a better system emerges or until someone arrives at the club with a wad of cash.

That would be O.K. if the flow wasn't going the wrong way!

Actually HS it's a myth.
Check it out.
Online quote.
"Ostriches don't bury their heads in the sand—they wouldn't be able to breathe! But they do dig holes in the dirt to use as nests for their eggs.
Several times a day, a bird puts her head in the hole and turns the eggs."
From a distance it just looks that way.
In reality they are handling their responsibilities to look after their offspring and future.

| Defying logic and against instinct I actually agreed to go to a football match last Saturday. My grandson, Halifaxwilliam, on the right with Grandson Nottinghammatthew bought a scarf, half blue and white for Rochdale and half red and white for Forrest. Halifaxwilliam has agreed to lend it to me on Sunday (he will be wearing his full blue and white) so that I can be seen to be supporting both clubs.
Incidentally, my thoughts on the game of football? Picking up the ball and running with it would improve it no end.

By definition you already do "support both clubs" !
Yeah, picking the ball up & running with it would be such an innovation in the footy game, a bit like kicking the ball in RL, to score a try, rather like the modern game whereby approximately 50% of tries are scored from a kick.
Marvellous stuff, learning from other sports.

Rugby Union owes its current status thanks to the thrashing Wigan gave Bath.
It was a wake up call.
