I agree with Charlie. The players Sheffield get from Leigh will make a big difference and could have a bearing on the result. Mark Aston has always been a shrewd coach and has done a great job with recruiting. Not much in it for me and could see it going either way. The one thing we have got is our players have been together over 2 seasons. You would think the players should know the plays. It looked at Batley like a new team who haven't played together before.
As for going backwards the management at the club have mismanaged and other clubs looked to have spent more wisely. Player recruitment has been poor. Spending too much on coaches. A big screen which was a waste of time. Is the reserve setup really necessary and would it have been wiser to spend on first team.
RM has to stop living on past success and get back to playing basic rugby league. The biggest disappointment for me was not competing at Batley.

Yes CC I totally agree re Bentleyman who has followed the club via public transport etc over hundreds and hundreds of games I understand. Top top effort and it saddens me to see even his mindset is not in as good a place as it should be.Just watched RM interview re prep for Sundays game and I think without doubt he and the players got the message from the fans re last Sunday. Fingers crossed we get a win and maybe even a smile from the aforementioned Bentleyman.
Keep smiling-we have been in darker places than this since I started watching in the 1960's.

Charles save your money & time even i have doubts sometime i can accept a defeat by a better stronger,physical more skillful side it takes me a bit of time& effort to get to some games one of the few things i find unacceptable are lack of commitment & effort

Player recruitment - could have been better, but we've cut wages and aren't in a position to sign better players without more cash. Spending too much on coaches - last year without a doubt, but they're gone now. Big screen - I said it was useless from day 1, good riddance. Reserves - disagree on this one - we've had a few come through the reserves, and I think it's a good value investment. |
