It all smacks of Barrow to me. If he runs that club like he runs his gob then they're in trouble. It's OK being billy big balls but once the ar5e falls out of it all there won't be one helping hand or one song of praise for him. His only epitaph will be: "For four years, he managed to polish a turd".

To be fair he does wear his heart on his sleeve and mouth off, probably much as a lot of us do, the BIG difference is that we are not directors and as such he needs to rein himself in and keep his gob shut. Or calm down and have a bit of decorum.

Nothing like what happened at Barrow,Derek is just an ordinary fan with a bit of cash to spend on one of his passions,IE,Leigh Centurions ,anybody who knows Derek or has been in his company will tell you he says it as he sees it,Leigh have come a long way under his leadership and that of the other BOM it's been a great ride for us Leythers and hopefully will continue.What happened with Desire at Barrow is nowt like what is going on at the LSV, there was some impressive Sponsors there last week and hopefully they will return, the future is bright Rich, believe me, be wary of the wounded Centurion. |

Ive shaken my head a few times but in all honesty, apart from that night on twitter "which was completely unacceptable" i have very little problem with anything he has said since he took over the club |

Back to topic, Leighs Director of Rugby has a tonne of passion, seems to be putting his money where his mouth is, sounds like he likes a drink and his RL. Doesn't sound too different from a lot of RL fans to me. Derek probably just uses social media more than a lot of other RL Directors and this is his Achilles heel, in conjunction with his passion for Leigh boiling over at times.
Leigh have perhaps gone from a lot of peoples 2nd club to upstarts (and Derek has played his part in both), who people might not shed a tear for if it all goes south, but I bet the fans and players are enjoying the ride. Everybody knows they have a dam good side on their day, and the League didn't lie, they had an awesome season prior to qualifiers.'"
What's with the Jagger?It's Mr Jagger or just Terry I'm not fussed but be civilised.Back on topic ,I've never met Derek but he seems a very strong minded guy , just like the Doc at Salford maybe not as much cash ,and Littlerich seems like the Fax Board Rumplestiltskin , just loves stirring the Brown stuff. |
