I'm sure he wanted a big hit on him (bearing in mind Sam had been dishing it out earlier), but to say he was going round with the intent of fracturing someone's skull is... inane.

As I've said elsewhere, I hope it's not as serious as being reported and he makes a speedy recovery.

I don't believe for a minute he actually intended to cause the injury he did, but he did. He intended to hit him though and in doing so he must know there is a chance of an injury and in doing it the way he did there was no opportunity or possibility of Barlow defending himself.

Cool. That's all I was trying to say (he wouldn't have intended causing a serious injury). Dane will get the punishment he deserves when it's reviewed.

In the meantime (again), hopefully it's not as serious as feared and Sam makes a speedy recovery.

Agree. As for the rest of the match, it was a good game, hard and aggressive at times, both ways too but nothing that bad. Shame it seems that one incident is overshadowing everything else

Isn't the point of a tackle in Rugby League to not only halt play but to hurt someone?
Surely Paul Rowley doesn't say to his players "tackle, but be gentle"

That incident started when Barlow was taken late of the ball. It flared up after that. No hit on Barlow, no incident.

At the end of the day Sam was the best player on the pitch by a mile in the first half, he wasn't put in hospital on purpose don't get me wrong but ball in hand your forwards couldn't get near him.

No, tackle whoever has the ball, that happened for most of the game. I'm not sure what exactly you are trying to say or achieve here. I am saying no one doesn't matter for which team should do what happened in that incident. If it was the other way round I would say and have said the same.

Agree, Sam had a great first half, he is a quality player.
Don't want to fall out with my Leyther friends, but to give Sam man of the match "great first half" undermined
