I think the only 'poor' signings have been in the key half back and hooker positions over the last couple of years. Handforth must have only had 2 good games a year at Batley, both against Halifax!! The Thacks and Tiger partnership has not worked at all. I did think that the problem may have been Penky last season but it hasn't worked this season either. I think that the pack and three quarters are a match for any team in this division, but we have had no creativity. Lets hope some of the rumoured signings are true, and that they 'gel' this time!!

I can understand negative comments from people, but to suggest that the club has not signed some quality players under Harrison is ignorant

i also think thacks is very good and will be sad seeing him leave. been poor partnership and still scored plenty of tries for fax. differant partner and would have seen him at his best.

Thinking we could go this season without a quality recognized hooker was a massive, massive mistake. I am very skeptical though as it feels like if the Brown and Mennell rumors are true, that we are replacing like for like and could get the same result. Getting Barlow off the wage bill must have freed up quite a bit of money and hopefully some of that will be ploughed back in to signing a top quality half back or hooker.

We can only sign people that are available that will limit our options and the quality of half back we get!

Like paying Barlow too much so we couldn't keep penky and bringing in the Ashalls, or letting Black go and bringing in handforth because the coach doesn't like Australians. We had options but made bad choices. Now we are seeing other teams retaining the best due to next years reshuffle.

I want the best team we can and if that means Australians in those key positions then so be it. Karl did a fine job with the pack and murrell. If we had penky and black would this year be different. Personally I think so. It's not over yet though.
