Did you send that FOI in to find your life? Reckon it'll take a while to find it.
Well done

Sorry if I have offended you. After reading this forum for a while I'd seen you as one of the more sensible posters but I read that and thought even you had finally snapped! If I've got that wrong then I apologise.
At the risk of sounding like I've got even less of a life then as it is a written form of communication our message board would be best described as libellous rather than slanderous.
I did submit an FOI about my life, but it was refused as the act doesn't cover individuals, and only returns facts. Whether I have a life or not in the first place would be a matter of opinion so can't be answered, although I'm sure a few of you on here certainly would have an opinion!
Anyway, again I'm sorry for taking your post out of context.
At the risk of sending the thread off-topic, good luck on Sunday. I always enjoyed beating Batley.

A few genuine questions ,you will have seen a number of us on this forum stating our support for Town, not financially I accept but by our desire to see ALL teams from Halifax succeeded, do you ever copy those posts to you forum?
Also does any one on there ever say a food thing about Fax? And finally in your honest opinion why do you (Town Fans) hate Fax.

| I have a theory on that.
If you look at towns which have a history of soccer and RL then you get this problem when the RL team is perceived to be dominant - little penis theory I believe the psychiatrists call it
It is epidemic proportions in Wigan for example, yet where RL is second best it doesn't seem to exist eg Leeds, Sheffield
There is no need for it but for some reason a percentage of soccer fans have terrible symptoms, one of which is to get very nasty about it and have selective memory loss.

There are positive comments on the town messageboard on occasions. As has been said many times
most supporters of both teams are supportive/tolerant of each other but a few take it too far the wrong way.
Postings on these boards can be emotive indeed two well known Town posters had a dust up in Tesco's
last week about comments made on Shaymen.net.
I know many Town fans and their reasons for their dislike is:-
1)The rugby club had zero interest in sharing Thrum hall with the football club when town looked like they
would have no home. They quoted some sort of act from the 1800s as the reason though.
2)Bearing in mind the above there was divided opinion about the groundshare in 1998.
3)Accepting the rugby club was moving into share the Shay and bringing 1m investment
should be a good deal allround.
4)The then Fax directors used the Asda money to pay their loans off and effectively moved
in for nothing.
5)There is a general perception that the rugby demand everything their way at the shay
when in reality they should be at the mercy of town/council for being there in first place.
6) the pitch condition especially after the notorious waterlogged pitch game versus Wigan
7)the rent dispute about who should pay more.In particular the unreasonable retaining of large
sums of money for a dispute about £1400 a month that the rugby club would have signed to
pay historically anyway.

So nothing based on fact then. Sums them up. Always looking up to the bigger club and looking for any reason to have a go. 99% of them are idiots.

I know many Town fans and their reasons for their dislike isThe difference is Thrum Hall was owned by the RL Club and was not a community assett unlike the Shay.
2)Bearing in mind the above there was divided opinion about the groundshare in 1998.
Bearing in mind the above there should be no divided opinion
3)Accepting the rugby club was moving into share the Shay and bringing 1m investment
should be a good deal allround.
So if the RL club had put a million pound into the Shay with the soccer club contribution to that figure being zero but they benefit from it is okay by them.
4)The then Fax directors used the Asda money to pay their loans off and effectively moved
in for nothing.
Or they could have decided to not pay off their loans and move in with a substantial debt round their necks and we know how the Town fans think about debt.
5)There is a general perception that the rugby demand everything their way at the shay
when in reality they should be at the mercy of town/council for being there in first place.
A general perception by whom, a few zealots who are so bitter the only perception they have is corrupted towards negativity. When in fact the rugby club demand nothing but they do ask to be able to play there.
6) the pitch condition especially after the notorious waterlogged pitch game versus Wigan.
The weather is what affects the pitch as can be seen recently and if it had proper drainage in would be much better protected, the fact is at the end of the rugby season the pitch looks fantastic after a full season of RL. How many soccer games have been called of due to the condition of the pitch following a rugby match since Fax have been at the Shay.
7)the rent dispute about who should pay more.In particular the unreasonable retaining of large
sums of money for a dispute about £1400 a month that the rugby club would have signed to
pay historically anyway.'"
The rent dispute between the RL club and Calderdale that only they know the full facts about that would have to be paid anyway and has nothing to do with the soccer club and who decides what is reasonable an unreasonable few soccer fans.

Fair questions.
No, I haven't posted positive quotes. The thread Freddy mentions was about the rent arrears so I considered it pertinent. If there had been a thread about attitudes to each other I may have done so. However, I have spoken positively on there about the attitudes of some of the posters on here, I try to keep a fair balance.
Yes, there is some positivity from some posters on the boards towards the rugby club. The board contains a wide range of opinions on most subjects.
I can't answer for other people if you want fact, but if you want my opinion then I'll give it. I think Mr T Hall sums it up well, from the things I've read. Another example I saw was the 'tunnel' issue. The football club needed a tunnel, asked the rugby club if they wanted to share the costs and the rugby club said no. Then when the football club bought it the rugby club asked to use it. I don't know if that's fact, just an example of what I've read.
It's petty and minor, but lots of petty and minor things can lead to bad blood between groups over time if they build up. It's a shame on all sides.
I also think the way the offer was made for the Shay created mistrust. Fair enough Reactiv don't have to tell people their plans, but when you want the goodwill on your side with joint tenants a lot of this could have been avoided.
Like I say, just my thoughts. I can't speak for anyone else.

| Part quote.
" I think Mr T Hall sums it up well, from the things I've read."
Is that it then, the entire "case" against the RL club by a few Town fans?
"Another example I saw was the 'tunnel' issue.
The tunnel issue, what tunnel issue.
Town. Fancy going halves on a tunnel?
Fax. NO.
Town. Okay we'll get one ourselves.
Fax. Can we borrow your tunnel?
Town. NO.
How do you even remember such things?
"I also think the way the offer was made for the Shay created mistrust."
Not the offer that was not a real offer because it was a couple of paragraphs on an A4 piece of paper that never required deeper discussion because CMBC rejected it.
"Fair enough Reactiv don't have to tell people their plans, but when you want the goodwill on your side with joint tenants a lot of this could have been avoided."
Fact is TA did call a meeting to discuss the plans for the Shay and to tell people about them had CMBC been interested.
Fact is some Town fans will never trust TA or reactiv and never will and will never offer goodwill of any kind to the RL club.
Fact is all the bad blood has been coming from one direction, a small group of Town fans, the real nasty bits the RL fans have reacted to, without the nasty bits it could have all been avoided.
Do what you like, it will change and affect absolutely nothing.
Fact is Fax are playing at the Shay against Batley this week and for the rest of the season.
