Why is everyone saying the score 'flattered' us?

We played them off the park in the second 20, took most of what they had in the third 20 and ran riot in the last 20.

Because we would not have scored 24 points in 9 minutes if it wasnt for the sin binning. We was very good tonight but we wasnt 30 points better than them IMHO. I still believe we would have won but just not by such a big scoreline.

Agree with that. We looked very solid in defence. We were the much better team and the score line reflects that. The strength of our bench really told tonight.

the penalty count, 8-0, either side of half time was killing fax. some of them wrong. ball steals one on one. but great defence kept them out. few niggly shots went unpunished.
agree that the aizue break in the last seconds would have been great finished with a try.

Hang on, we took full advantage of a situation brought on by foul play from the opposition. Nothing other than professionalism and killer instinct. The scoreline simply reflected that. You're basically saying we didn't deserve those scores or to win by such a margin?

Just got in and watched it back. We absolutely deserved to win, defence was solid and forget the eagles fighting their way back. We smashed them open in the first half, held out till just before half time, got crucified after the break by penalties and without doubt we would have folded last year.

We held firm, head hunter rightly got binned and it didn't look great in slow mo either even tho aston thinks it was harsh. He bare hand slapped tiger in the head and so what if he went down like a bag of Maris pipers.

Soaked up what they had and then did a second job on them.
Manning, penky and my star of the season so far, ashall were on fire and having watched the premier sport coverage, the highlight of the night has to be the commentator being corrected by nobby when he thought manning was driving the ball in, it was actually aizue, easy mistake...

Great performance - well worth getting up at 4am Aus time to watch it. We've been involved in some cracking games these last few years and it was another great advert for proper rugby! Our defence looks pretty strong this year and we have great players all through the squad. Bit crap that it's the 1st season i can't get to any games!

I do not envy Widnes fans even a little bit. I would not thank the tools at red hall if they gave us a golden ticket next time! This division is set up for another entertaining, competitive year. You can keep your predictable, scripted super league!

Late and high - all RL players should know that's an automatic yellow card. Ditto all RL fans should know the same - something that the Eagles faithful seemed to be unaware of given the reaction to the yellow card.

Sheffield gave it their all early on both halves, but such an effort comes at a cost, and Fax would have blown them away (Ok, perhaps slightly less if against 13) in any case.

That was a ferocious game both teams hit hard and it was played at a very fast pace, Sheffield are a good team and will for me be right up with us and Fev but we withstood a barrage at our line and after Brambani got sin binned ran away with it.
Our defence was very good but it was out attack on the fringes that caught my eye, Sheffield struggled to cope with that.
They got back into it by the Ref given ball stelas when they had lost the ball, in a tight game (at the time) posession was everything.
Penky was on fire, manning was superb and all the lads did well, great effort guys keep it going.

We are looking pretty darn good arnt we? The best thing about it is that we are still going to get even better as the players get to know each other more. What about that defence, at times it was just brillaint with some great last ditch efforts and the players working really hard for each other.

Those who think Harrison would take the edge off our attack while improving the defence, still think that? For me we look just as good in attack, if not better, than we have over recent seasons. Personally i think if Hwer had of figured out the offside rule we would of dominated the game before the final 20 anyway. Sheffield are a good team and they knew they would come back at us but to be honest they threw everything they had at us and it wasnt anywhere near good enough.

Its still early days though but things are looking promising and thats 3 points we got that a lot of other teams wont get.

maybe not 24pts but had a good nine min spell in first half with three tries and i think he comitted the foul just as fax were breaking away from a long goal line defence spell and would have scored same as did previously.
