| Quote: dboy "That begs the question "why don't Fax do the same?" (and any other aspiring Championship clubs).
Fax can't just say "if we were in SL we would have juniors". They have to demonstrate they can be sustainable.
Reports suggest that their application failed to do that in any way - hence no licence.
I would suggest that the reason Fax didn't get a licence lies a lot closer to the Shay than Red Hall. Will Steele hold his hands up for the shoddy application???'"
No Fax can't say anything really because we are not sustainable.
The negative reports are completely acurate even though no one from the RFL have spoken to Halifax yet and a report has not been issued.
We have failed in every way and no license.
The problems are all at the Shay and Redhall have been a tower of strength to us even though we did not deserve it.
Michale Steele will be hanging himself as we speak.
Fev will not be treated this way and have nothing to fear when they submit their own application which they will undoubtably will do ticking every box twice as many times as all the other clubs put together.
All of this makes you a much better person than any Fax fan and you are right to get delight from our short comings and I am glad this makes you happy.Thank you.
Remember it will happen to you, you can give it but can you take it.

The club fund it by raising money through events all year round, it costs around 100k the other teams get it paid for them which makes the millions wasted on Crusaders even more disgraceful'"
Well done to that but you sure its not funded by your sugar daddy?

Should something released this week, I would hope. I would normally have expected the info released to be very low key and "unblaming", but I don't think Lewis will have any inclination to protect Steele after today's outbursts.
Time will tell, eh?'"
So you have made it up. So you know someone that high up in RFL that they would tell you about a licence bid, but you didn't know that Calderdale was one of the best areas of amateur and junior rugby? What an idiot.

You really believe the RFL?
Really?
If you do you are a fool.
Cometh the day you will see how the RFL stitch you up and make it out that you are the ones in the wrong not them.
Fax are one of the few clubs that DO NOT rely on a sugar daddy, unlike many other clubs in and outside SL, Fev being one. Come on are Fev really sustainable on crowds of what 1200 to 1300?
No.
Stop stirring it pal and go away.

I bow to your superior knowledge as you have obviously seen our application!! Forgive me but did you not have your mouth full as you were on all fours cleaning under mr woods desk?
However one point you miss is surely getting access via SL to bigger budgets is it not fair to say we can provide a full youth policy due to the extra cash? We have however via self funding provided a U23 side which is doing ok. I dont think it's out of order to put that into a SL application and see how speculating is shoddy??
What is shoddy is saying....... Yes Mr Wood we will have our sparkly new stadium ready by 2012 so on that basis give us a SL license for 3 years. The same promise we made in 2009 and guess what, we delivered our SL criteria stadium!! You and several other clubs have not! So do the RFL learn from these false applications?? No they let them do the same again!!
I know who I'd believe when they say Yes we will do that and deliver it!! Our chairman as he has done exactly that!! Delivered a strong and legitimate application not based on hearsay and speculation and ifs, buts and maybes.

Well come on then if it's truth then you can be the first to break the news to us. You obviously know everything!
Remember our chairman is a solicitor so I'm sure he won't mind you posting the truth?

| Brilliant.
The RFL have yet to sit down with most Clubs and go through it a bit more, yet within hours of the decision numerous people are suddenly 'in the know' and have had access to the documents and have assessed every detail of every application.
Some people really do believe the stuff they type.

| To be frank taffy your timing is crap, as I really dont give a rats ass for all the speculation and justfiying of the rfl decision to give Wakey a license. All who can see and read can spot the huge gaping holes in their bid and the 'flexible rules' the rfl apply. Not saying ours was perfect, but we did what was asked of us. Now i'm not bitter towards Wakey or any other club, but give us time to grieve at rfl injustices before coming on here with this type of sheeite.

Wakefield area (i.e. inc. Cas), pretty much dominate schools RL. For example, Outwood are about to win the National schools cup for a record 3rd year on the trot for a single age group.
I'm sure the Calderdale amateur clubs win everything...in Calderdale.'"
Yes a very feeble argument - See Cardinal Newman from Warrington - 5 years I believe.

| Fact is that even with an old ground in need of work, and going into administration wakefield were still deemed to have a much better application otherwise Halifax would have been in......simples.
I dont think any halifax fans actually expected to get in really.
Would there have been the same reaction if crusaders were in and wakey out ?

they didnt fulfil there promices from last time did they??? NO
Did we??? Yes
the only things they do better with are down to the Sky money they get. they are not that well supported, we got more in than they did when we were both in Super League apart from the awful season.
so explain how was there bid better????

sorry if i offended missionary , not my intention , just my view on some harsh but seemingly unmerited criticism of Wakey . I am quite open about my support of Cas and so i have no 'foot' in the wakey camp , and i understand your frustration , we felt the same when we were relegated under p&r system , despite finishing above Catalan , and i guess with this in mind maybe I shouldn't have posted as you are all bound to feel upset , and for that I genuinely apologise , and I can understand your annoyance with RFL

| Quote: rlw "i only have detailed knowledge of one age group, as it is a group i regularly watch.
yorkshire champions u16 siddal
yorkshire champions u18 siddal
national cup semi final u16 king cross park (missed out on a last play try)
national school champs last 2 years brooksbank u15s ( in final again this year)
national school final this year brooksbank year 7s.
every single one of these players is from halifax.
players snapped up by bradford bulls in u16s this year alone- 6 (of which i know)
halifax players playing for england at u16s- 4, one of which captained the team.
many more players have signed at other teams, mainly from siddal and king cross park amateur clubs, siddal being arguably the best amateur team in the country(open age)
do not tell me that any area in the country produces better rl talent year after year than halifax.'"
Great post. Some people can quite ignore true fact even when it's put in front of them. The true part about all of this is, a lot of us do get out there at grass roots and actually watch games, we'll be able to do it all year round in the very near future too.
