I think we should keep larroyer and tangata and see if we can break the Guinness book of records for the most penalties conceded in a game .

Almost totally agree with that. I would keep Murray as he has proved what he can do at this level, maybe a change of coach will have him back to his best. Jacob would be somewhat fortunate to stay given the amount of time he has missed, not all his fault though. It would be good to get another decent season out of him and perhaps making him captain could boost him unlike Brandon where I thought the armband hindered him.

I would have Jacob as the club captain too. I’m sure Moore will stay but I’d take the captaincy off him and let him concentrate on rugby only in his potential last year with us.

I would love to see the break down of penalties v players for this year. Handling errors would also be a very high stat

Yeah that would be interesting to read. I wonder if faxcar would be willing to share that data or at least give us an idea?

Yep, Tangata's last minute penalty (the most ridiculous I have ever seen) which cost us a point at Bradford might ultimately cost us a top 6 spot.

And despite that he was able to keep his place in the team the following week when players have been dropped for less.

Mistake? Could be but everyone’s the wiser after the event and since you only joined as miseryguts icon_lol.gif on the 28th of July 2023 I can’t confirm if you said we needed a clear out last year or not. icon_wink.gif

On the other hand we have several claiming throughout the year that with the squad we have we should be pushing to be in the top two and Grix is the reason we aren’t so which is it, a top two squad or one that should have had a clear out last year, because it it can’t be both. icon_confused.gif:

On data. It’s a big list and by your own admittance anything extensive is beyond your powers of concentration and you only forget anyway. icon_wink.gif

Come on, I'm sure Simon wouldn't mind you sharing. icon_wink.gif

I probably should have added that the list been so big is probably one of the reasons a number of people on here were calling for Grix to be sacked (Obviously not including myself in that as you know that didn't happen from trawling my posts icon_wink.gif )

Don't expect much to be released by the club until our season ends, using any new signings to try and drive season ticket sales. People on here seem to be suggesting moving on quite a few who are already contracted for next year - whilst likely impractical, I'd also prefer to give players like Tibbs a chance to perform for a new coach. One possible signing muted on here is Widdop; while it would make a great story, I'd definitely prefer not to tie up a sizeable part of our player budget on a player quite likely to spend a fair chunk of the season out injured - and who plays in positions occupied by arguably our 3 best players. One player who I would love us to tie down, in spite of our glut of hookers, is O'brien - Don't think there's a hooker to touch him in this league. While he wouldn't have the PR value of Widdop, PR doesn't win you games.

Mmmm, so on a thread about retentions / recruitment I see your still in Grix out denial mode, why keep mentioning it then, guilty conscience obviously. d040.gif

And now according to you the reason a number of people were calling for Grix to be sacked was because of the amount of penalties / handling errors conceded by the players this season.
icon_iamwithstupid.gif icon_surprised.gifops:

How do you know, did you simply remember it or did you have to trawl through their posts. icon_wink.gif

If not you who were they, name them and show us where they said it.

Or are you just making things up again. icon_lol.gif

There was literally about two people on here who wanted grix gone and about 3 people on Facebook, there was the midget tony on the coach who played a couple of games for the park amateurs and claimed he was a better coach than grix ( quite funny on Sunday watching him get told to shut up by Hilda for arguing with the Whitehaven fans ) then ironically the ones who wanted him gone photobombed the celebrations after the London cup win and changed their profile pics to them hugging grix and the 1895 cup . I hope Finn knows what he's letting himself in for , lose a couple of games and he'll be the worst coach since the last bald bearded one we had.

Widdop has not been shy about telling people that he wants to finish his career at Fax but the question is would he come for what we would be prepared and able to offer him? Ive seen him a few times at Cas this season and he looks to be a player very much intent on winding down his career and looking after himself, I don't blame him for that in the same way I didn't blame Scott Grix for doing the same for us, but the question is do we want or need a player like that. For me we have the best players in the league in key positions in JWH, Keyes, Joufrett and Obrien and any spare money should be used to tie down AOB.
