| kicking the two was the wrong option. It had me clenching my fists and I knew then we would win.
We came back strong in the 2nd half and Harris helped to steady the ship. We'd scored off Fax's errors and got within touching distance. The penalty, kicked to the corner would have starved us of the ball and put some pressure on our line - our defence when under pressure looks fragile. At worst the clock would have run down.
When the tee was sent on I was ecstatic!! Fax wanted a breather and took the two not changing the outcome at all. A converted try wins it!!!! and so it prevailed.
To come back from 18-0 at the half is special, particularly after being on the receiving end of so much stick from the fans - "easy easy" etc.
A particularly pleasing evening. The two games v fax this year have been awesome. Loved em!

| We've shot ourselves in the foot again. Another loss at HOME - the worse place to do this when trying to attract fans. We thrash Toulouse in front of 200 diehard fans and then cock it up in front of 2,000+ at home. It's one step forward and two steps back in this regard. Fax - get some momentum back for the playoffs !!!!

If we hadn't we would have lost 22-18 instead. The alarm bells started ringing for me at 18-10. Infact I was thinking at that stage we were easy second best but should be ok in getting a bonus point. We didn't look like scoring in a million years and Fev were making far more yards and played as tho' their lives depended on winning. Totally and utterly out-enthused us in that second half and deserved to win.
Obviously disappointed, but in this sport it shows if you're not pumped up for it you'll struggle, aka scouse helens against wakey last week.

| Miles going off early didn't help but not professional enough in the 2nd half they wanted it more we went to sleep and didn't kill them off. Black and Penky had poor games and that is pivitol Gleese was standout again but needs players to do the same week in week out. Lets beat Widnes and gets this crap out of the way AGAIN and focus every game.

That's where we need a Harris type player ... a player who's been there done it, is a great leader and sets a great example. Someone to steady the ship. At half backs we have an off the cuff talent who can be great on his day but can go walk about, and a hooker. Very good players in their own right but as I say we need an Harris.

38361.jpg IF YOU WANT TO WIN IT YOU'VE GOT TO EARN IT.
DESIRE AND PASSION FOR 80 MINUTES.
COME ON FAX!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:38361.jpg |
|
| I've had the same signature block underneath My posts for months now and it was never more true than tonight.
We totally outclassed Fev for the first 20, and it was party time in the crowd for the fax fans. Everything was coming off and the movement was excellent.
When we came out in the second half, the team was unrecognizable. Fev didn't seem to play much differently but we looked flat and down. Heads dropped and nobody seemed able to raise them. Lots of hard tackling was put in by the players but it is so much better watching them playing with attacking flair and we never really looked capable of that in the second 40.
We have got to learn that it is an 80 minute game and we must learn to see every one of them out to achieve what we all know this team is capable of.
Well done Fev for not lying down after the initial onslaught. You got a result that you, in the end, deserved and a victory that Fax threw away.

| Fev stepped up a gear and fax looked Knackered in the second half, apart from Said. I thought we were going hold on, but it was not to be. exciting though.
Oh, and a good game from the ref.

| tactics wrong tonite i'm afraid. got away with it last week but can't expect to blow teams away every week by having all strike players on at same time. Gleeson, beswick and penky visibly knackered in second half and offered nothing in attack. Hope we don't do same next week. you need a ball player/dummy half on the bench, to rest others but also to shake it up a bit.
Sometimes I think MC's arrogance runs away with itself and his team selection today showed that again.
Plus doesn't help when 3 of your props do about 15 mins each, so everyone else, including the 2nd rowers were having to work overtime.
It wasn't lack of effort tonite, and we didn't make too many errors, although when we did we paid for them. just imo the game plan didn't work - no plan B for when Fev got a roll on.
