| Strong and decisive leadership?
What a load of nonsense.
The strong and decisive thing to do would have been to let nature take its course and support a new company.

| Well the RFL/SL have now shown the rest of the world what a shower or sh !t they are. Everyone will be laughing at how the whole thing is run.
Only problem is is that I doubt the RFL/SL actually give a sh 1t otherwise they wouldnt act as they do.

| To be honest i actually think it is a disgrace, as Widnes where not allowed into Superleague the first time due to finances.I am behind the teams in the Championship, and i do believe even though my team are in Superleague the RFL are corrupt.Glasgow Rangers got no sympathy, and where Relegated, and now everyone looks at our Sport as a joke.

| The sad thing is that there are far too many (maybe not a majority) who are willing to accept what SL and Wood are proposing. I read a thread on the Virtual Terrace and left feeling depressed and hugely frustrated. And that sadly sums up how RL has become such a joke - because there hasnt been enough opposition to the ridiculous ideas that they have come up with and implemented.
Maybe a new supporter-led organisation needs creating which will fight to put a) some sense and respect back into the game and b) represent the view of supporters. Credibility of the game is being dragged even lower - didnt think it was possible - by the buffoons at Red Hall yet it seems there is little opposition.

| When I read about this I was shocked and appalled that this could happen. I then went away and thought about it, it all makes sense. I have not had a bang to the head.
One club cannot own another club that play in the same league as them. I believe, before we go into all the ramifications about creditors and the ABC group that the sports ministry would not allow it. They may not have the power to stop it but they can suggest to the RFL that if it happens then they would not make current financial aid available.
What could happen is, Super league clubs could own a club that play in a different competition to them, such as the Championship.
Bradford Bulls would then effectively be the first "Feeder club" for the super league.

| Farce.
RL will never ever be a national sport due to sorry episodes like this. Beyonf belief how that can choose to save one of their favourite sons while they are seemingly happy to leave other clubs they perceive to be basket cases go to the wall. Well, aren't Bradford now a basket case?

| Quote: Skipdog "So if this is only till the end of the season and then Bulls will be for sale again what happens if no-one comes in to buy them then when they have built up more debt, all the players have found teams for next season because of the insecurity?RFL is making itself a laughing stock, let Bradford go out of business and restart in championship 1 and let RL be seen to do the right thing by those clubs who have lived within their means, where volunteers work their socks off week in week out and the club survives by the skin of its teeth.No-one club is ,or should be,bigger than the sport of RL and it is time for the RFL to show some balls and sort this out the right way'"
No one club is bigger than RL but Nigel Wood is, in fact he is RL as he OWNS the game, he has everybody by the b@lls now with Franchises as you disagree with him and he can 'get you back'. This is a mockery as no governing body should get involved in a clubs ownership or ground, its a conflict of interest. I hate that man he is worse than a politician, in fact he is worse than the North Korean dictator!

Only thing they've strengthened at Red Hall, are the chairs and the bog seat.

| Thats it for me, i´ve had enough.
I´ll support rugby from the Championship down only, I really enjoy a day out at the Grand Final but i ´won´t be going this year, and i´ll not attend any other showcase games. I cancelled skysports sometime ago.
Nor will I be supporting the World Cup next year, if someone can convince me too I might attend the game at the Shay but only to make a point.
It´s not just this, the forthcoming announcement about changes to the Championship with clubs linking up with SL clubs etc, why can´t they leave well alone, its only being done for the benefit of SL not the Championship which they clearly do not care about.
They can´t even give the NRC Final its own day in the fixture list.

| This decision effectively relegates the Bulls to the Championship, the only question needing sorting now is who replaces them?
It is either you ( only club with an application for this round of licences ) or Toulouse?
So, do you want Fax in SL next season? , and if you do, under what conditions?
Do you accept a 2 year guarantee, or insist on a 5 year?

If the Bulls are kicked out, there will be no need to insist on a five year licence as they will probably be abolished after the current ones expire.
If they reach a final in their first Championship season, then fat Nige will leave the licencing system.
If they don't I reckon we will see the reintroduction of P&R

| I have read all of the posts on this subject and am inclined to agree with most of what has been written. I think everyone knew that the RFL would step in somewhere after they had said that there could be no conditional offers to the Administrator. Certain facts are self evident. The RFL cares little, if anything, about non SL clubs. They have certain preferences that they struggle to hide. There was no help for Blackpool which was an expansionist club, and yet they have bent over backwards in the Crusaders debacle. They have come up with a solution in the Bradford case which helps the RFL more than it helps Bradford, as the RFL will have got themselves out of a hole that they were digging and it was getting deeper as each day went by.
Is it not time that the Club Chairmen should be unanimous in their action when they sack Nigel Wood and his cronies?

| Read the Old Viking message with interest. Agree 100% that the RFL and SLE have zero interest in teams outside the top tier. I would go a stage further and say they have no interest in SL teams outside the top six! Just look at all the teams that have emerged and collapsed in the last ten years. But going back to the Bradford Bulls I do think they have a secured a temporary stayof execution. The RFL and SLE cannot afford to subsidise beyond the short term. Unfortunately for the Bulls they are skint and bankrupt now and nothing is going to materially change in the next few months. They must be hoping for a multimillion to come in over the horizon. Possible but very unlikely; the game all levels is hardly a major profit maker and unfortunately the signs are there for all to see that the situation is going to get worse. For the life of me I can't understand why the various club chairman(they wield the real power NOT Nige) and bit the bullet go back to semi pro status and go back to league based on a regional basis.
