Guy at Wakey didn't say which ref told them they were ok for SL but they way the RFL is run it is quite likely that the refs wil be told which grounds they will be reffing at next season before the clubs find out.

But, back to the point of this thread, I would have thought that, even if Wakefield weren't in Super League next season they'd want to keep a talented young local player who wanted nothing more than to play for them. Therefore, why insert such a clause?

it must just be that they can talk to clubs about deals for next year i know greg worthington who is on thier has a deal at fev till the end of the season

Tbf can't blame them as IF they do stay in SL they'd be a bit gutted if they then lost all their best players / youngsters because contracts are out!
Wouldn't be surprised if with these young lads they discuss dual terms in case they do go down. We used to it in 2006 / 2007 one contract if SL / one contract of NL!
