At least 4 buses (heard there maybe a 5th on the cards), plus LOTS of cars.

400-500 Raiders fans as an estimate.

If we play like we have done in the last 3-4 weeks we could be on the end of a hiding.

I think we'll be well up for this one though .....

The way your chairman speaks in that article makes me think if I was a player I would tell him where to go and that article could be a hinderance not a kick up the booty.
OK you might not have been playing so well of late but your top of the ladder and have won the last 3 from 4 in that list what more can you ask really??

Cant see players like Broadbent being too chuffed about those comments. esp when they are top of the league and almost knocked Wigan out of the challenge cup.
This guy seems to know very little about rugby league and as for his comments about Matt Calland having a big mouth, well it made me laugh coming from a guy that has just ranted on like that. Pot and Kettle ?

The Barrow chainrman is a kn0b! Suppose this is what can happen if you have a single owner who can dictate things!

Lets hope he has to eat his words when Pete interviews him in the lounge after the game!

[i"I’m paying the best top-dollar wages to these people and they are not doing the business like they should be."[/i

You'd think they were Man Utd.

[i“Matt Calland has said to the whole world that Halifax are the best team in this league by a country mile. We need to take that country mile and stick it right down his big mouth.”[/i

I can almost hear the rattle being thrown out of the pram from here!

"Whaaaah, I've paid for this damn trophy now gimme!"[/i]

Completely agree. It should be left to the coach to make comments like that. Sounds like he is throwing his toys out of the pram after a couple of average performances.

Absolutely right, dont have a problem with Barrow but the chairman sounds a bit of an idiot...he would have done better mouthing off after the game if they had won...that will only fire Matt and the boys up...come on fax!

I think the Chairman of Barrow is doing a great job in bulling the match up. He's paying the players wages so has every right to lambast them. In a brave move - his comments about Matt Calland can only serve to gee up his players if they get on board. It could also have the adverse effect in winding Calland up too. I like it. Fighting talk from a colourful Chairman. Bring it on !

Wonder which whistle happy blower we will have on Sunday. Ive checked the RFL's website & it's still only showing last weeks appointments. I can hazard a guess, Hicks or Childs! icon_rolleyes.gif

Totally agree, he's paying the wages he's got every right to say what he wans. Time will tell if it proves a wise move going public with his feelings though.

Its about time someone said something about us to fire us up. We need to show them who really is the best team in the league this week. If we play anything like we can i expect another comfortable victory against them.

Bang on there mate.

Broadbent is the first to point fingers behind the sticks when tries are conceded, so I don't think he'd have any problem at all with Des' comments. A lot is very much tongue in cheek with Des and he must be doing a lot right - we've been in the top 2 for most of the season.

I think players need have their cards marked sometimes and personally have no problem at all with his comments. The players are being paid to perform to their best and like any other job, your boss has the right to say something if you are under-performing.

I liken his comments to Don King selling seats for a prize fight. The game has too few characters these days.

He's right about Calland though icon_wink.gif
