Those are the rules of the competition & they're there to be used or abused. Will York be complaining about their point tonight ?
We still don't carry a single BP in our points tally this season, but i wonder how many sides have taken one from us ?
I'm all for it & I hope, just hope ( A'LA Kevin Keegan stylee ) that if we do get one it leaves us top of the table come crunch time.

| I have never liked it rewarding failure is not right in sport and rewarding a defeat is wrong.
Look at the table, without the bonus point we would be 2nd and Fev 3rd.
For those who like the bonus point just take a look at the bottom of the table, Hunslet have got 10 points from defeats yet got a bonus point for them, they might stay up having won less than Swinton, York or whoever and that is just wrong come on.
You benefit from keeping the score down by the good old points for/against if you finish level you stay up if you hav a better points difference end of story.

The bonus point is part of the Championship, that's my ERMMMM point !!!!!
Why would you like to look at the bottom of a league table ? That's their fault for not winning enough games, serves 'em right. I bet you're anti-drop goal as well aren't you ? Pat Richards & Wigan certainly aren't after the effort I witnessed on monday evening. You've gotta play for every single point that's on offer, play for every minute, gain every advantage, sneak every inch, win every single contact.
That's my POINT.

Er presumptious aren't we I think the drop goal is well worth having, it won us the Challenge Cup in 1987 for goodness sake and for me it is pshycological as well it just puts that gap in the scores.
As for the bonus point well you said it, its part of the Championship - but not SL or Championship 1 you may have noticed so why do we have it???
As for Hunslet they have 22 points yet have only won 4 games, how ridiculous.

Don't be ridiculous, the tries & goals that we scored "attributed" to the 19-18 win on that occasion also. It's all part of the game. We don't compete in SL or C1, so why should that affect our psyche during the heat of battle ?

| I like the BP,it keeps games interesting at the top and bottom end of the table when it looks like they could just fizzle out.
Having said that if they got rid of it then i could live with that as well.

Its nowt to do with the heat of the battle its an experiment that has been forgotton about and we are still paying the price, like I said its rewarding failure.

You're incorrect. You watch closely games across this division how many teams/individuals attempt to preserve or salvage the bonus point during a close game towards full time. Smart players will & do, both when they have the ball & suss out the opposition when defending. Try watching the game on the whole fella.

Not that many games are like that, like I said if it was so good how come its not been adopted by SL and Championship 1?

| As good a job as Marillion has performed on this bonus point stage it still comes down to the fact that Featherstone lost yesterday but were given a point for it so they could leapfrog Sheffield. They were rewarded for losing. Now Marillion, when the P.E teacher put that egg back on your spoon so you could finish second how do you think I felt finishing third when I'd carefully negotiated the course (albeit slower) by not dropping the egg?
It set me back. Totally lost my faith in sport. I could have been something!!!!

| Thankfully the RFL will have to ditch the ridiculous bonus point when they go to 2 x 12 into 3 x 8 leagues.

| Can't get too excited, to be honest, about the bonus point system. York gave a great display yesterday and deserved something out of the game, so step forward "the bonus point". In that respect, a good idea. If I do have a criticism I'd say 12 points is too much .......... getting to within one score (6 points) would I suppose give the BP more credibility. I suppose

| I have mixed feelings on the issue, maybe if we had achieved a bonus point during all our lost games we would have a different opinion on the system as we would be top, but as we have not we deem it as rewarding failure. The bottom line is that we will take anything if it puts us top of the league so cant see Fev complaining too much!

| Funniest thing that has happened a few times is a team losing by 14 points at the end of the game kicking for goal to get a bonus point.
Thems the rules but at times its laughable. The RFL are so confident in it that they havnt bothered bringing it in to the only league that matters.
