| Actually you pay VAT on tickets sold and anything else you sell. Long before your normal tax bill is calculated.
You could technically be still liable for VAT on a free ticket in certain circumstances. However if no one entered for free then you only the VAT on the sale price not the full value price.
ie VAT on £18 is £2.68 per ticket, if you went in for £1 then VAT is £0.15 per ticket and so on. So if the club handed out 3000 tickets at £1, they would have a VAT liabilty on sales of £450. Not bad business to make sure you meet super league criteria.

Wasnt really the best attendance was it. I have seen the pics of all 3 stands and you know, i know, we all know there was no more than 2 at the game. You can put 20k as the figure if you want, but having said that i dont blame Fax it shows how pathetic the whole system is, watch Fev get 7,500 this Sunday |

Aslo if it were the case it would offset the turnover which would lower the PBT.....wouldn't cost the club a penny as it is the end user that pays the VAT not the VAT registered Company, as the club would have to be to charge VAT. |
