Quote: Richard Bills "Congratulations on the victory. Fax's first half display was the best first half that I have seen in many years at the Recre. If they had continued to play in the same manner in the second-half, the score would have been frankly embarrassing for Haven.
Forget all the comments about dodgy forward passes, the referee favouring 'Fax etc (he seemed to favour whoever had momentum), it was a well deserved victory.
However, in the second-half, it was as if Fax had pressed the self-destruct button from the initial kick-off onward. This gave Haven momentum, which in other circumstances could well have led to a drawn game, especially if Karl Edmonson had held onto the crash ball he received a couple of metres from the line with a couple of minutes left.
The mixed comments about Gregg McNally make for interesting reading. He is perhaps a more creative player than he is given credit for, as a number of the tries in the game against Toulouse came from his passing game. As yet, he does not take on the line, which may be due to the requirements of the game plan the team are given, but his support play is superb for someone who is still in the Sixth Form at Whitehaven School. 18 tries in 10 games is an impressive statistic by any measure of the imagination.'"

Makes a refreshing change to see an honest post on here, not blinkered by team loyalty.
Very good description of the ref. Think he might have checked out the penalty count at half time (something like 7-2 in favour of us) and tried to even it up.
McNally is a good prospect and you are very lucky that he is still at school and based up there because I am sure Huddersfield would love to have him training full-time, right diet etc etc.

I did notice that it was your first post, I'm fairly new on here too, get ready to be absolutely infuriated by some of the most outrageous rugby opinions ever!! All good fun

In all fairness they should be happy with that.
He got them back in it in the second half, and them being 24-0 down had nothing to do with him.

Quote: WhitehavenRLforever "Were some of you lot watching the right match. He was floored 2nd half TWICE but only 1 got noticed. It was a cheap shot.

The sooner Refs start sorting your players out the better. I know your favourites but that doesn't excuse officials giving you "special treatment". Calvert got 10 for gobbing off to the linesman when he was blatantly taken out. If you win the league then it will done with extra help

I seem to remember the Carl Sice Oscar winning performance leading to James Bunyan's dismissal a couple of years ago. Very Ronaldo-esque. Sice went down clutching his face after Bunny had put a good legal hit on him and sprung miraculously to his feet as soon as the red card came out.

Sore loser.

It's swings and roundabouts, and if you can't take it, go watch some other sport.

It wasn't Sice, it was David Seeds.

It was an off the ball incident think Bunyan misread a pass and went in high on Seeds when he never had the ball and was sent off for it. Definately wasn't legal but Seeds made sure Bunyan got sent off. Didn't he get sending off sufficient

I don't think any red cards should've been issued for the incidents involving Gregg, he made the most of them but they were high tackles. There was maybe one where he was taken high which he never got but then you knocked on 5 yards further up the pitch. My only complaint over Laughton really is the knock-ons he missed in the build up to your 2nd try. Greenwood knocked on and then knocked on again regathering the ball on the ground but Laughton did nothing.

I agree with an earlier comment about your kick off in the 2nd half infact all your kick offs they seemed to set the tone for the 2nd half. What the first kick was all about I've no idea but then what was Tamghart doing when he ran right infront of the referee and was a good 5 yards offside before the kick off was taken. Laughton looked embarrased to give it as it was that bad.

Nope, he was cleared and had the red card rescinded, just shows what a drama queen Seeds was.

What did youthink to Calvert pushing Black into the wall after he scored then?

I'm not saying Mcnally wasn't fouled but he get's up pretty quickly once he's got the penalty, compare him to Miles greenwood who almost had his head taken off in the first half but got up straight away and helped your players case.

It happened more or less in front of me. Seeds was the dummy runner & the ball was passed to your winger. Bunyan didnt take the dummy & hit him, legaly, as he should do. Arent they taught not to take dummies & to tackle the man in front of you?

No ban, no fine, card rescinded, shows it was wrong decision by the old bald TJ (who incidentaly swapped lines during that half & dont think he came back out in the 2nd)

They have a habit of doing that up there, a Haven player did the same last year when we scored at the shed end, a few of us went mad about it but the Ref did nowt.
Why don't they punish this ever when it happens, seen it on TV and at other games we have played and the Refs just turn a blind eye why???

Perhaps we should put that wire fence down the side of the pitch to some use icon_lol.gif
