Good luck in your fight for recovery Dave. Hope that one day justice will prevail and the cowards get what they deserve.

Fair enough if these 3 were not involved, I hope the police are not giving up on this, The culprit MUST be found and punished, I think its pretty clear that people with the information are not going to come forward now.

COWARDS !!!!!'"

Don't want to dilute this too much from thinking about Dave but I must yet again express my disappointment at the Fev fans who did do this or rather their mates who know who they are but are not coming forward with their names.
It still leaves a sour taste that day for me.

Thoughts of a ShaymanGiven a vicious assault presumably by multiple people has taken place, and in the likelihood that a few people in Featherstone know who was responsible but are saying nowt wouldn't it be great if the Thrum Hall fans organised an indefinite 100% boycot of Featherstone away games until the day a trial commences.

Hit the s where it hurts they'll budget on a 1000 Thrum Hallers going across every year, so f**k em.

Can anyone with some clout in rugby circles try and get this going.

They could even donate their entrance fee each year into a trust fund for Dave, it's great that he is making progress and I hope with all my heart he makes a full recovery.

Halifax RL fans boycot Featherstone indefinitely and stick a tenner of fifteen quid every year in a bank account for Dave.'"

I for one won't be going to Featherstone this year. No disrespect to the Fev fans that post on here and seem decent but I did find it an intimidating place to go before. And following what happened to Dave (and I hope I'm wrong) there could be 1 or 2 idiots that go to cause trouble. I would not want to see more of that at rugby. Putting what I'd pay on the gate in to a fund for Dave or to raise money for the places he's been cared for is a good idea and I'd be more than happy to do it. Not sure what others think?

Its tricky as it is a good idea for Dave and his family but what affect will it have on our players with no away support?
I am not sure how I will feel when we meet Fev fans again tbh
Not saying I will be having a go at them or anything silly like that but I will feel very uneasy and hope and pray no idiot says something that will incite trouble from both sides.
What do others think?

I think before these posts cause a big debate, I just want to make clear that I'm not saying everyone should boycott the game. Of course the team need supporting and I hope Fax get the support they normally get at away games. My personal feelings are that I don't want to cos of how I felt there. Again I need to stress that it's not all Fev fans. The majority are ok but as in every case there are 1 or 2 idiots that spoil it. Because I don't want to go I would be happy to put my money that I would pay towards a good cause be it a fund for Dave or towards the places that have cared for him.

best wishes & thoughts go with Dave from the TO fans - can honestly say all the Fev fans have been great at Toulouse - it's always the minority of mindless cretins that spoil it for the rest ...

Not going to follow your team because of the dreadfull assault on Dave is not the answer.

Get there in numbers and have a bucket collection at that game. Do not confuse any proper RL fan with the moronic thug(s) who did this mindless thing. I am sure Fev fans will respond and even that lady who shouts forrrrrrrrwaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaard at every opposition pass.

Well said, make it a great crowd, home and away.
Personally my only disatisfaction with Fev as a club is that they ran out of chips at our last game there.

For all you good folks from whichever club.

It has gone a little off topic and maybe we should start another thread so as not to get confused as to what this sticky is about.

Anyway it's no problem and since it has gone in this direction I thought it appropriate to say the following.

Just for the record shortly after the incident and to this day his family and Dave once he came out of the coma and recovered enough to have some realization of what had happened bear no anamosity and hold no grudge whatsoever against Featherstone Rovers as a club or any of their true supporters.

As to the person or persons who did this it has not been spoken about at any time in my presence or in the presence of any of the other close friends who have been there for them other than brief comments concerning how hard the police have been and still are working on the case.

Even after what has happened Dave and his family are simply not the kind of people to dwell on bad thoughts they have kept busy and focussed on getting him as well as he can become in the circumstances.

When Dave recovers enough to come out of hospital and Halifax visit Featherstone he will want to go if he is allowed to and support his team and i will take him whether he is in a wheel chair or not and nothing would bring him more pleasure than to be surrounded by a sea of blue and white.

On the other hand he would not want to influence anyone else in what they decide to do it is a very awkward situation and each must decide on what they think is best for them, their families and not for Dave or anyone else.

In the mean time keep your support for Dave coming as I tell him about it all the time and get behind Halifax as it means a lot.

Thanks for all your support.

Dave is now clear of the mrsa which is good news he can spend as much time as he feels up to out in his wheelchair with regular daily physio and rest periods throughout the day.

Had a good chat about your support on the forum and what had been happening with Fax and Town.

He was tired at the end but remains positive.

Nothing else to say really so all for now.

Thanks again for your support.

A little more progress to report with Dave.

For the first time the physio people have had Dave in the swimming pool today supported by bouyancy aids.
This is a big step forward that will play a major role along with some other new work being done to make progress.

The rest remains the same his spirit remains high and it will be good to see some more positives in the coming weeks / months.

All for now and thanks again for your support.
