At a time when we should be congratulating the fax board, widnes arrogance comes on and ruins it. Guess they cant deal with us having one of the best (the best?) attendances in the championship. Its not our god given right after all!

Keep the thread open so we can all wallow in the glory of widnes and their "yoof" some more, before they leave us plebs behind and take their god given place above us.

Get over yourselves.... the reason for most of the criticism has been brought on by the fact that your own fans are hardly convinced that the attendance quoted was genuine. Little sarcastic winks at the end of sentences go to show that there are possibly only a handful of people that believed the figure was correct.
Then we have other stories about tickets being given out and counted without the person in receipt actually attending the match. Other posts (quickly deleted) from MB users on here that suggest a false figure was about to be given out anyway regardless of the attendance.
What you are doing is no better than those clubs that hold up pictures of shiny new stadiums as proof that they are about to move in and you have been quick to criticise them for that.
I can't believe that I am holding up Leigh as a shining example but they have played the game honestly and good on them.

How does anyone know that your gate figures for the whole season are correct?

The fact of the matter is we dont and you dont. We have to accept what is given to us, and therefore as they say "Read it in the papers". Its there so there is no further debate..

Because it would stupid of them to announce their figures if it meant they wouldn't satisfy that criteria..

It would be daft of us to announce such high figures which would mean us having to pay a very costly tax bill.

You only pay tax on money earned. So if you claim you have 2600 in the ground yet there was only 1600, you would only pay tax on the 1600 that had actually paid to get in. Was surprised that your crowd on Thursday was announced so high. Looked to be very few people there.

Well seeing as we haven't done any free tickets this year we would have had to pay tax on the figures we announced so it still doesn't add up that we would willingly hand over cash to the tax man when we don't have to.

As for the crowd... the sky cameras are now positioned in the North Stand.. the south stand (the one that appears more often on the tv) is a lot less popular.

The fact is that we / you do not know if everything that is told by a club is correct, we can only accept that it is.

No you don't, you can question it? Like a number of your own fans have by suggesting this is nothing more than sticking two fingers up at the RFL.

So what if it is. The RFL have already made themselves look a joke over all this. Have a look at crowd photos from our games this season, it dosnt take a genius to work it out. But on the other hand what if the extra tickets had been paid for, im pretty sure they would be scope then for including them in the figure. Good on the club i say. Like i said in the other thread we really need to be pressuring the RFL from this point forward, winning the Grand Final would be a good start so we can then proclaim ourselves as the most succesful club on the field in the licensing period.
The average crowd figure is a joke anyway. Do you think Quinns would get it if they were in this league? I doubt it. They struggle to get it in SL.
Widnes have no need to worry, they will get a licence. Their fans shouldnt be on here moaning and whinging they should be on here with us Fax fans laughing that we are playing the RFL at their own game.

You pay tax on your profit as a club not on tickets sold!
In simple terms

Actually you pay VAT on tickets sold and anything else you sell. Long before your normal tax bill is calculated.

You could technically be still liable for VAT on a free ticket in certain circumstances. However if no one entered for free then you only the VAT on the sale price not the full value price.

ie VAT on £18 is £2.68 per ticket, if you went in for £1 then VAT is £0.15 per ticket and so on. So if the club handed out 3000 tickets at £1, they would have a VAT liabilty on sales of £450. Not bad business to make sure you meet super league criteria.

Wasnt really the best attendance was it. I have seen the pics of all 3 stands and you know, i know, we all know there was no more than 2 at the game. You can put 20k as the figure if you want, but having said that i dont blame Fax it shows how pathetic the whole system is, watch Fev get 7,500 this Sunday
