You clearly are a true and passionate support of our club. For the past few seasons Fax have not entered into DR and I am very proud our club didn't. However the RFL introduces ideas policies and an infrastructure that is geared up to benefit the top tear clubs while letting everything below wither and nearly die. Next season we will be playing in a tougher league than ever before with full time teams and 2 ex-SL teams. If we succeed and get into the top 4 we can then watch Fax play against SL teams. I find this very exciting. However I think with a part time squad (however good they are) we may struggle to reach the top 4 of our regular season. If we are DR with a club and it is managed well and it helps us achieve our goals then we should support the club in that decision.
We will only be working within the guidelines of what the RFL have set down.
You don't have to like or agree with DR. You don't have to like or agree with Halifax being DR if this is what happens. But one thing is true and that is HRLFC, YOUR club will be worse off because your not at the match.

Fair points Ian but not enough, in my opinion, to justify the club selling its soul. P.S. a bit early I know, but I have been talking to Big Daddy (Gilly) about a Christmas Eve wander with the lads if you fancy it.

| It was stressed at the meeting that the DR link up would only happen if it was in our best interests. Halifax RL would not allow the SL club to use us to get players returning from injury match fit (the example given at the meeting was Adrian Morley turning out for Swinton).
The link up with a lower club would allow players such as Joe Martin, who may initially struggle to hold down a first team position, the opportunity to get some game time. Halifax appear to be (temporarily at least) ditching the U20s this year.
I am against the principle of DR, but it is beginning to look as though we will get left behind if we don't look into getting some benefits from the system, especially considering that Richard Marshall has had the bulk of his squad chosen for him by Karl Harrison.

| I have to agree with Mr Hudd-Shay. Dual Reg as long as it benefits. can anyone inform me of a lower league club that has benefited?
I can give you examples the other way. Hunslet - dual reg. 5 Rhinos, all decent players, Hood, Moore, Shinehorst etc, but still get relegated.
Swinton - Take various Warrington players throughout the season (including Briers and Morley!!!), and get relegated. Some of the best results for these clubs came when the DR players were recalled.
At the Forum on Monday the message was TEAM HALIFAX. all DR does is destroy teams & teamwork. Put yourself in the boots of our fringe players, training 4 nights a week and not getting a chance to play because of DR.
One of the worst 40 minuets down the Shay by the away team last season was the first half against Leigh. just before half time they withdrew their Wigan DR boys and replaced them with squad players and we all know what happend next. Shortly after that the Centurions announced DR did not work and would be going it alone.
DR goes against my principles and I don`t want to follow a team that feels it needs to go down that route

| I see no benefit to us of DR,maybe there are people out there who can educate us sceptics? Take the scenario we have a centre out injured for a month so we bring a loan player in for a month..simple.The DR route..well you can have a.n.other this week and maybe next or if we get injuries he'll be recalled etc etc it's bollox and makes any planning impossible.Add the damage it may do if someone in the squad is awaiting a call up only to find when his chance arrives his place has gone to DR.

I'm not certain, but I would guess that it's been a lot harder to get players in on loan once the SL clubs have DR agreements in place. Obviously in 2015 things should be a little different with the reduction in SL club numbers plus Leigh's ditching of DR and Swinton etc's relegations.

| I agree with Hudds' & his feelings re- D/R.
I stopped watching the team last season on the basis of the lack of entertainment being served up, it was the only way i saw fit, to vote with my feet, in protest if you like. I noted my feelings to half of our b.o.d. I warned them of the falling gates & revenue stream & made those comments based on what other previously long-time loyal supporters were saying to me. Let's face it, we weren't wrong !!
Now we must move on & look to the future, it goes without saying, but D/R is wrong, the whole moral/ethic of it is wrong. I don't really know what the new coach can do other than investigate all avenues & credit to him for laying his cards on the table so early in the piece with this topic refusing to go away it looks to me like it will happen one way or another.
What i do find sad is the comments criticising Hudd's for standing up for what he believes in on an online forum, or of anyone else for that matter. If clubs continue to lose support from the terraces like ours have over the last decade or so, because of whatever reason, i see no future because it's possible there'll be no club to support potentially.
Let's look at another scenario, let's say we all packed up & stopped following Halifax RLFC, yet a Dr Koucash type figure emerged from somewhere to plough in millions of pounds because he found himself a new weekend pass-time. Let's say, on the back of all his wealthy input, the team under-performed, achieved no noteworthy success to celebrate and recorded losses of let's say
£ 5 million in it's annual reports. Would that type of supporting our team still have the same proud feeling for those who remained ? You know, having been successful in your own lifetime supporting them, almost perennial yo-yo relegation - promotion candidates, boom & bust, have to leave your traditional home and move into a different stadium, team managers/coaches by the boat load etc etc etc
I think we should be careful what we wish for, but from what i'm hearing, the style of play that is being currently coached & practiced by Halifax is radfically & tactically different from the garbage that kept the likes of me away for over half of last season so hopefully entertainment will be there for us again rather than blind loyalty.
Yorkshire tea 0%, got a night shift to work later today, not MMMMM....

Well that isn't true
Leigh had done away with DR before the start of last season. That day the only 'wigan' player was Sam Hopkins who was on loan back to us after many years at Leigh. No Duel Reg players that day or indeed at all last season.

| Voting with our feet means less money for the future if things don't work out. Luckily the directors don't do it.
Don't like summer Rugby? Stay away.
Don't like leaving Thrum Hall? Stay away.
That's exactly what thousands have done.
Don't like dual reg? Stay away.
Or ride it, the above two were necessary,
If Dual Reg occurs then perhaps that is necessary.
We need to pull together this season, as Mr Steel said, don't let us hamstring our new coach before he has begun.
Keep the faith,.
Please
