| Yep. There are many ST who will only watch their ticketed match. Simple question of affordability for most people, esp those with families.

Fev of course were well supported but against Barrow in 3 weeks time it will be nearer 1000, they won't bring many and there will be a lot of home support that will likely stay away.'"
It was a good crowd today as that was the least Fev have brought for years I guess 500 tops so we had 2500 home supporters and we blew it!
Sad day today we went back to that early season stuff, Fev knew we would not score 4 tries so just wound the clock down second half.

| I saw nothing different in the Halifax team performance yesterday that i saw Vs Leigh for the last 50 or so mins of that game & for many other games prior to that in the last 18 months. I was really looking forward to this fixture & getting the result that would make the run in to the season's climax. Those are the things that will prevent me from attending again. Four of the b.o.d. know my feelings on the matter, one of the coaching staff also knows my feelings & views.
This is the least passionate Halifax RLFC team i can recall watching in my 40+ years. I'm not bothered if folks want to blame the coach, the patterns or styles of play, the referee or whatever. We were never in that game yesterday, where was the fight ? the mongrel ? the change of tactics ? There was nothing there.
As i've stated many times before, i have a lot of respect for Mr Steele, Mr Riley & Mr McNamara having got to know them through the years & seen at first hand the work they put in when i was on the club staff, but they are being badly let down by players on the pitch.
There was a rumour doing the rounds that someone from Fev had offered their players a grand per man bonus to win yesterday, they turned up in indifferent form with a patched up team and still beat us.
I didn't enjoy the match experience yesterday & won't be returning unless thing improve.

| You seem to have some real problems at the top with understanding why players chose Leigh over Fax this season. I will list a few 1. Ambition - players were told what the vision was and how we get there 2. The coach - they liked what they were sold 3. Facilities - perfect pitch and training facilities on site to match
The end result was a very close, young squad that was trimmed as the season progressed, the youngsters stepped up allowing some old heads to depart to pastures new. The cost was below the £400k granted, and we have so far secured £525k in prizemoney on gates up 40% with record commercial income and all those players have secured 2 year or longer FT contracts - we are bringing in 3 players, two are already here, for next year, no major surgery for the next leg of the journey and spirit you cant buy

| Which players "chose" Leigh over Fax? As far as I'm aware two had contracts that ran out and weren't offered new ones and one was a trouble causing who was shipped out on loan before ending up at Leigh. Hardly "choosing" that. Don't hurt yourself when you fall off that high horse.
The question for Fax is why did we let them leave and replace them with worse? Whose decision was that?

I don't think you give your team enough credit for their second half display. I thought we (Fev) were really under pressure at times in the second half and it took two last-ditch tackles (one of them by M.o.M. Sharp) to prevent you closing the score. Two seasons ago my top memory was Featherstone defending six sets on our own line at The Shay and yesterday it was the defensive effort of the second half that again impressed, possibly our best this season.

Our recruits were Wilkes Kay Barlow emmet Armstrong sarsfield - are you saying none spoke to fax?
You will not find a high horse at LSV as we never spoke about our competitions spending

Looking at it the other way are you saying they all did speak to Fax?
From what I know Fax were after Kay at the same time as they signed Cowling from Wakey but Leigh offered more for Kay than Fax did, if this swung it or he wanted to play for Leigh regardless?
Barlow was effectively sacked from the club after a fall out when he did not get straight back into the team after returning from injury and ended up at Leigh via Fev.
None of the others were ever linked to Fax at anytime either officially or even in the gossip that was doing the rounds.
Who knows Maurice and who cares, they are where they are.
I don't even know why this so called problem has been raised, it doesn't exist.
I can clearly see prior to this season starting why Leigh, Fev or Fax would appeal to most players currently in the Championship and some players in SL that were not sure of a start and why Leigh would be first choice if they could choose.
After this season even more so.
Leigh are on the up across the club, Fev are still a good side and club who are regrouping and Fax are on the edge and could fall either way hence more of a risk imo.

| People need to realise that players go to the club who offers there agent the most money At this moment in time it will be Leigh so they will get first choice in the championship

Very true in most cases, it's their job, their income for them and their family and most will reasonably take the higher pay packet, the exceptions would be the "Home Town Club" "Heart over Head" factor that occasionally plays a part.
Thing is there are only so many places to fill at the top clubs whatever the division you are in, hopefully their will be enough players available for the rest of us who are good enough.

| At the start of the season, I didn’t think we were good enough for the top 2. Our squad on paper was not as strong as Leigh or Fev and I assume we couldn’t compete moneywise. Looking at the team sheets yesterday, I felt the same, we didn’t look anywhere near as strong as Fev. The only reason we have got close is because Fev have underperformed this year. And to fix that they went out and spent more money with dual reg, loaned players in etc , something we either refused to do or were unable to. But we could have had the 2nd spot sown up if we hadn’t have thrown away winning positions most of the games we have last or drawn.
On top of that I just don’t think we get our tactics right. Playing Brown yesterday completely backfired, and why does KH persist on starting with Tonks. He has completelynullified his game when in the first 20 mins both teams are going at 100 mph and he hardly runs the ball in. I know we are limited in player numbers, but with those that were available, I would have started with Bracek at prop, put Casey at LF (at least he is more mobile) and then have 2 propos coming off the bench, including Tonks where he might have more effect.

Nah Fev went through the motions second half as they knew if they kicked the ball into our 20 we would struggle to get up the other end and we did, the game was won in that first 22 minutes we never looked like getting back into the game I even thought we might get nilled for the first time since 2003, we have no cutting edge when it comes to the big games and that suggests we aint good enough sadly.

| Need to do some good preparation for 2015 be a tough league next year , Bulls FT , London FT , Leigh FT and Poss Fev also FT - People seem excited at the prospect of playing the Bulls , not gonna be a popular opinion but if we dont make changes they are going to stuff us....We have had FT Teams in this division before Cas , Celtic Crusaders and that FT fitness always told.
