Yup... They're dire....'"
I NEVER ONCE criticised during the Calland era because quite frankly I found it entertaining. Frustrating yes, but thoroughly entertaining. The stuff that Halifax are producing now reminds me of 1980's Bradford Northern side. Theirs was THE most boring team I've ever witnessed but we're beginning to show signs of it over this past month.

| I certainly criticised Calland not for entertainment but on sheer squad alone he should have had a clean sweep of all competitions. I'd love to see what Powell or Ashton would have done with such a talented squad at their disposal. I think we underachieved to a degree and shoukd have win the League; but by god it was great to watch.
This stuff being churned out by Harrison is abysmal and I think he should do the right thing and walk away for the good of the club if he loves it as much as he says he does.....

I was sad to see Calland go, but go he had to.
Remember even before things turned bad, people were calling for Karl.
When Matt went no one other than Karl was interviewed for the post.
Many supporters got what they wanted, are those the ones who are calling for his head.
Leave it to the board.

| I certainly wanted Karl in the job, he was one of my heroes and I personally thought he'd got Batley punching way above their weight... With more resources available I thought it was a marriage made in heaven with his passion and love for the club for all to see.... I remember Batley fans telling me they were glad to see the back of him and I thought it was sour grapes....
The BOD will again do what's right although I'd expect they are tied due to his contract. As a fan who welcomed Karl and applauded his appointment sadly it hasn't worked out and I think a fresh start is needed but I expect us to start next season with Harrison in charge.

Perhaps there are 3 choices,
1. Karl falls on his sword, "I love this club but I feel for the best of Halifax RLFC I step aside"
2. The board talk to him "We will pay up the last 12 months of your contract if, you walk away, we will tell everyone that we did not want you to leave but you felt it best for Halifax RLFC"
3. Karl stays because the board have every faith in him.
Whatever the board must avoid the same acrimonious departure Karl had last time.
As you say Chris, it hasn't worked out.

| If you sit in the stands around the half way line you obviously get a good side on view.
Again it is so obvious that the two markers virtually do nothing and concede yards at the play the ball.
Along with that our line speed, if you can call it that consists of taking two slow steps forward and a sort of little jump into the air like a set of morris dancers.
These two elements alone give so much space to the oppositon it's unreal, wether it is a dummy half run or quick pass to the first receiver we are never in there faces they just run through the line getting free field position.
It was the likes of Fev that would get on top of us because of this but now most sides are benefitting from it.
The only time we seem to show any aggression and real effort in this area is on the rare occasion that we get the opposition pinned near their own goal line and then we might pile in for a couple of plays, as anyone else noticed that these rare occasions are getting even rarer.
This is what has me really concerned that we can't even get basic marker and line defense right and when we concede the yards we do conceding the try's soon follow.
We have been a bit hit and miss for a while now but we look like a set of total strangers that have not played together before.
There's got to be more to it than meets the eye, is it the daft timing of the contracts again or something else, something is definately not right.

| One thing Halifax need to worry about is that the fans are not coming in and once they go it will take so time to get them back Although another bad day for you today it wasn't a loss you are going to be in the playoffs and anything could happen and last of all the championship need strong clubs and it needs Fax to be one of them

| Donny's 2nd half plan was simple enough. Up the middle and then go at Handforth.
Are we fit enough? Doesn't appear so. It was the first time I've seen us use all our subs up before the visitors.

When were not marking or moving up it's an open invitation, you have a static defender against a guy running flat out which most of the time means yards conceded.
When we did hold then a bit further out plan B was give the ball to Cook to sky it as high as possible and wait for the aftermath.
Even Ryan who was stand out earlier in the year looks well out of sorts.

| Having just read Harrison's comments on the Courier I'm 100% certain the bloke needs to throw in the towel. Never read so much cr@p... Same old rubbish he spouts every week. It's getting boring just like the rugby he has got us playing

Me too I have felt our season ended when Fev tonked us we looked lost that night and then against York, Barrow, Leigh and today have just confirmed this.
Its not good though as our crowds are down and after today some of the crowd I am with aint coming next week.
Worrying, very worrying.
Can Karl turn this around as this is his team and his style, its boring?
