Simple economics determines it's game over.

Two points here:

1. Who at the RFL allowed their registrations without adequate work permit documentation? Anyone in the game will tell you that you have to jump through hoops to register an overseas player. Or were staff there told to overlook irregularities with the paperwork? If so someone at the top should be sacked.....

2. What about the teams who didn't gain promotion from NL2 when the Crusaders came up as champions with what was in effect a team full of "ringers"? Could they take legal action?

I agree 100% with your view, however cant really see the RFL doing this, as the expansion into the valleys is part of their "grand master plan"

The RFL either knew about this or their administration is totally incompetent (no, surely not!)

Excerpt from the RFL's Operational Rules:

IMMIGRATION STATUS
C1:4:4 The RFL will not at any time accept a registration application for an "overseas Player",
nor register the Player until it has received a copy of the Player's work permit or
satisfactory evidence that such a permit is not necessary in which case the Club must
provide a copy of the relevant immigration documentation. In cases of dispute relating
to work permits or other immigration documentation or the need therefore, the RFL will
consult the UK Border Agency and/or the Home Office as appropriate and the Board
shall take their comments or advice into account but the Board shall be entitled to
determine the matter concerned.

before you even apply for the visa the rfl have to sanction your application other wise it stands no chance of being granted

we should know we had 2 players

dan russell and sia makisi who the rfl refused to back visa applications for

in russell case they said he did not meet the qualifying crietria even though it was pointed out to them he had played more NRL games than van dyke still no luck

with makisi they said they same and that they could not find any evidence he played for tonga so refused to back his application, when they were then provided with said evidence they then said he was not of quality to add anything to our game

in both case neither got any where near applying for thie visas as with out rfl approval it was pointless

the RFL will have had to approve the celts applications for them to be submitted

so for them to come out and say applications are between the player and the border agancey is BS

2 me this has 2 be a cover up orcestrated by rfl 2 allow celts in cos they want moneybags in there. i fink rfl knew all along but now they bin busted along wif corrupt ppl at celts who now not sayin owt cos they kno they cant say owt 2 defend it
