The thing is about some town fans is that they and their chairmen have known about the issues with the council and the shay for as long as everybody else.

During that time they and their chairmen have said and done nothing to address those issues.

Their chairmen never says anything about anything and the only time they say or do anything is when it’s about the rugby club and it’s always just like the post you quoted always plenty to say and open their big mouths about then but just talk and still do nothing.

Where are their initiatives ?

Nowhere because they haven’t got any.

Their can isn’t being touched never mind kicked.

The only club actively engaging with the council and local businessmen trying to find a solution is the rugby club.

If any of the rugby clubs efforts come to fruition it won’t be because of any contribution from them and they will only have themselves to blame for sitting in their backsides and doing nothing.

I believe the meeting with the Council regarding the future of the stadium this week , as previously rumoured and published by Clayton some interest shown by some rugby enthusiasts so hopefully things start moving forward, having ownership in whatever form will be a good platform for increased revenue for the club .

It would be great for Fax to own the Shay. Put the rent up for FC and when they can’t pay it chuck them out and rename the Shay The New Thrum Hall.

So far the names linked to interested parties included Marshals, A Safe, Frane Bros the latest being Danny Sawrij.

A consortium would obviously involve more than one party but it’s unclear if there all involved together or some smaller combination or how firm the interest is and as before until something is said officially although there’s clearly talking going on that’s all it is.

Another factor is they are dealing with CMBC who will be frozen stiff in what decision to make, they’re desperate to get shut but crapping themselves about the fallout if it goes wrong.

I don’t know why the Shaymen get so irate. If we hadn’t sold Thrum Hall and moved to the Shay the council would never have invested the money into the Shay that they have done and the Money invested when the Shay hostess some RL World Cup games. The investment wasn’t because of the football club it was because of the football club and Rugby League club being there. If it wasn’t for Fax they would still be playing in a Sh*t undeveloped ground. Mind you so would we!

What should we expect from a bunch of halfwit soccer fans? Watch a bunch of talentless dorks hoof a bag of wind round a field for nearly 2 hours, I can't think of anything more boring!

Past, present and regarding the future they’ve always been the same but let’s take a look.

They like to talk about subjects such as History and keep banging on about Tony Abbott and currently about the tax man or unpaid rent and damaging the pitch.

Conveniently forgetting about their own history under JB when over a million never got paid to HMRC and that season’s rent likewise never got paid as did many of their own staff and several local businesses who got screwed over.

They have the history of being the biggest sporting club debtors in the local community ever, indisputable fact.

On the pitch it’s Calderdale Council who are responsible for providing one that’s fit for purpose, on the one hand they publicly state what the Shay must be used for ( in part at least football and rugby ) and yet at the same time fail to do so making several half d half funded failed attempts instead of fixing it, many other teams share the same stadiums and don’t have this problem every year.

It’s the Council who can’t run the stadium at a profit and are desperate to get rid not the rugby club who are desperate to buy it but like everyone else with knowing CMBC’s intent because they don’t want to leave are being forced to try and do so on their own with no support from the football club.

On the pitch that’s not fit for purpose.

The rugby club don’t decide when the season starts, if and when they are drawn at home during the wettest months or how bad the weather will be during winter or after a bad spell of weather if a game should go ahead or not.

It’s also worth noting that before the rugby club have even gone anywhere near the pitch the football team have been running around on it all throughout October, November, December and parts of January during that same wet winter period knocking hell out of it in the process and during a full season who plays on it the most, yes we should pay our rent but why is it the same for the team that uses it less?

As said it’s CMBC who are desperate to offload the Shay and it’s imminently coming to a head with only the rugby club showing any initiatives.

Hoddie is currently scrolling through old newspaper articles from 1899 to find some halifax rugby mud to sling , flea is in Tesco thinking about his next bombshell while scanning some rotten tomatoes.

Taking another look, this time at their “closed shop” forum.

Page after page shows it’s the most hate filled local community sporting platform of all time with all the hate being levelled at the rugby club.

In this day and age of kicking out intolerance, discrimination and hatred etc against other groups they show by their speech and conduct a total failure to do so against just that one group and putting sport and everything aside show what sort of people they are as individuals.

If the same level and content of hatred, insults and abuse was to be levelled at any other group it wouldn’t be acceptable in todays modern society.

For example say it against any race, religion or LGBTQIAS+ groups and it would be shot down but instead put HRLFC or HPRLFC in and that’s okay on there.

That’s because the person who runs it not only allows people to spread their hatred but actively encourages it even allowing special dispensation to do so the longer they’ve being doing it for, but say the slightest thing against the football club and your instantly banned.

Thankfully, whatever happens to the Shay, the rugby and or football they will have no say or influence in the outcome whatsoever.

That's because the person who runs it has a God complex, it's what happens when someone goes unchallenged and is never held to account. It's a strange setup as even politicians, the police and everyone else is held to account periodically but for some reason it seems to bypass the modern world in more ways from one.

Alot of the hatred stems from the abbot era ( ironically I wasn't even following the club then ) unfortunately the current directors and previous directors have been tarred with same brush and irrelevant of any reasonable factual evidence just results in some incoherent ramblings about what happened decades ago.

Another irony is on that forum I'm called a nutter but yet the moderator continously harks back to david brook , gartland and abbot like it has any relevance has to whats happening now , I heard similar ramblings from my ex wife's grandma who was suffering from dementia and consequently stuck in a time warp.

An article gets printed where Clayton gets interviewed by a bonafide rl journalist and asks about the future plans of the rugby club and the stadium and hoddie and flea respond by printing old newspaper archives from the 80s and everyone is lying anyway .

As the time goes by and someone asks them.

“So what have you done with your life” and they reflect that over the years wether going to bed, getting up in the morning and hour after hour in between it was spent thinking about and talking about a rugby club who they hate to obsession levels I wonder if the penny will drop on what a pointless sad life it’s been?

PS: And with that thought in mind I’m done with them as far as I’m concerned from now on they don’t exist.

That's all it takes for a footy match to get cancelled down the shay ( and of course it's the rugbys fault even when there not playing.

And true to form answered fittingly with another derogatory term by one of them but that’s to be expected.

Irony is I wonder who can’t handle the truth about their past, have never been able to handle the rugby clubs presence at the Shay and having “snowballs” hasn’t the guts to stand by his own forums comments.





The pitch is all ready getting ruined as I saw in last weeks home game against Leeds and there’s still several more weeks to go of winter weather and football before the rugby gets anywhere near it.
