facts

fev against halifax grand final fax fan almost killed
fev against leigh post office road trouble leigh coaches escorted from ground by police
fev against Barrow trouble during and after game
fev against halifax nrc semi trouble after game polic on hand

and the common denominator is??????

went to watch fax under 23s at fev this year despite the small crowd I was threatened by fev fans at the end, presumnably cos our under 23s won the game in the very last minute

and thats no to mention but i will the number of pubs at warrington who refused fev "fans"admission to their pubs on grand final day but let fax fans in

that at the health and safety meeting prior to GF police who said they had prior knowledge of fev fans in warrington decided to have police dogs on hand "as they'd probably be needed"

I too have persuaded most of my family to support the team i love but now two of the younger members refuse to come if feathrstone are playing, as at the shay this season they were reduced to tears by the fev fans in the east stand. . this is the next generation of supporters who are being frightned off by a mindless few, although there seemed to be more than a few at the shay!!

i too will never ever go to post office road again it just not worth it there may only be a few of the hooligans in their crowd but they are tolerated by the rest. . if fev want of get rid of the hooligans its not just the officials who need to move them on. . . those on here who say they are fev fans also need to help identify them and make sure they know they are not welcome. whatever the protests from fev fans on here David Singer was beaten almost to death and still no one has been arrested. . having got away with that why should those involved be scared of being shopped

First bit of footage. Go on youtube and put in "rugby fans fight". Not much to see apart from a couple of Fev fans been aggressive, one with his kids, 1 Fax fan been taken away by cops and just general chaos not seen at rugby matches. Sounds like the recorder got a good view of a lot of the fans fighting.

I don't disagree with any of the above. You are most correct and even the most tunnel visioned fev fan/club employee can see that. But I've read your whole post and nowhere in it do I see any examination of fans of your own club.

Additional facts:- Fax fans DID enter the field of play, - yes I know it's not the Brinxx Matt Bullion Job but some of those fax were giving inciting gestures towards fev fans (I can just imaginge the reaction from Fax fans if the scores were reversed). - this is on film.

Fax players DID give inciting gestures towards Fev fans - this is on film and the RFL are considering action.

A 24 years Fax man has been arrested for assaulting an officer - no presumption of guilt here, a court will do that but even a 1st offence is likely to result in a stretch if found guilty.

A minority of Fax fans WERE abusive well beyond what is caused reasonable banter. I know that for a FACT - It happened to both myself and a good mate - and I have never hurt or abused anyone!!

Again I'm not blind, I know where the overwhelming problem lies Adam - but a bit of balance eh?

I accept that Fax's problem is not as severe, but I know from my own personal experience on Thursday of the provocative nature of abuse aimed at myself, plus what I have seen/heard personally and on film, that issues need addressing at Fax too!
The game needs ridding of all the sheeite, not just those at Fev - tho again I accept we have the far greater task ahead of us!

Quote: The Mouth "I guess you're looking for some kind of rise..
Sorry no can do. looking for a rise?? Do me a favour. I'm 50 man. I passed all the schoolboy points scoring crapola years ago. I've been using these fora for long enough now that folks know how I post!!

Quote: The Mouth "..you are obviously an authority on the violence at Post Office road...All I can say is that hundreds of us who would normally go to a cup semi-final didn't and won't ever be going to Post Office Road again...We had already had enough, thats why we didn't turn up.
Good luck to you and your team for the rest of the season and I hope you can sort out your dwindling attendance figures.. If you don't ever set foot in Fev again, far do's, that's your right, your choice, your decision. I'm not in any position to, nor would I want to, engage in changing your decision. That rests entirely with you!

What I have occasion with is the complete inbalanced incorrect and blinkered content of your previous post.

Additional facts

Try looking at things a little differently Robin. IF, so many 'Fax fans weren't "staying away" and our travelling numbers had been greater on thursday night at your home ground, I suspect the problems would have been multiplied. As I entered the ground with my good buddy Mark who I'd met in the Top house earlier ( and just missed you, apparently ) I remarked, crikey, poor turn out again from our lot. A steward actually approached me when he saw us stood chatting with some other Fev fans and asked me to go to the other end of the ground, that's which way Fax would be " ahem, attacking" for the first half. We both laughed and replied we'd be standing together next to the Lagoon bar for the first half at least.
Going back to my point, the meagre turnout speaks volumes to me, but at least we didn't have anyone who were looking for trouble. I can say with all honesty, all I saw were the Fax fans being jubilant at the end of the game and until being put under severe pressure by around 30 -40 yobs who were intent on going home after they'd had their fix of aggro. I saw things that sickened me, I heard some of your stewards making ridiculos statements to some innocent speccies like myself and if you's be so kind to play your part in "shopping" guilty parties, would you mind giving me the person's name who I should contact at Fev Rovers, cos I intend telephoning your club with my complaints early next week as my shift work suits ( I did a 12 hour day shift friday that's why I didn't react immediately FYI . It's OK all of us giving our opinions on a messageboard, but I'm prepared to tell your club officials about the behaviour of some of your stewards & give descriptions of at least one of them. I've already fielded a message from a member of the press who knows me about comments I've posted on the internet with regards to me intimating that I don't intend going back to your ground in the future. I sincerely hope that my mind is changed in the not too distant future, I can just see us having to travel there in the play-offs, but we'll be fine as long as we go to golden point & a strong ref turns up to stop fatty Tonka & Dickens getting away with lying on at every tackle they're involved in.
As a final point. Those young lads in Halifax shirts who did fall for the bait, I don't blame them for sticking up for themselves, some of them took a beating for their bravery but some of them were hit randomly from behind, I saw one lad kicked in the back down the terracing with no reason at all. If I'd have taken a smack for nothing, I'm afraid I might have reacted in the same way, who knows if it's "easier to walk away" ?
Can you answer me why there were no police on duty before & during the game ?

Quote: halifaxjohn "As we left the ground, we drove along Post Office Rd, the trouble started as many people in dark blue shirts were chasing people in lighter blue shirts.
At the same time many people who had obviously not been to the game were walking towards the ground hurling insults at us.
As one fan in a dark blue shirt shouted at us "Get out and i'll rip your fu**ing head off" I wound down the window and asked the policeman standing next to him what he was going to do? He just ignored me.
At that time I said to the rest of us in the car, "I have a horrible feeling that the only people who will be arrested will be the one's in the lighter blue shirts"
Turning left at the end of Post Office Rd, we were spat at by a fan in a dark blue shirt. He then walked past us turned round and spat at us again.
Obviously myself my two sons and my grandson (6 years old) leaving a game were great threats and sitting in the car waiting to get out was extremely provocative.
I agree, we should not point the blame, and that's why I haven't said whether it was Featherstone fans threatening to rip our f**cking heads off or whether it was Featherstone fans who spat at us.
All I can is that they were wearing dark blue shirts, o'h with a "pirate" on the chest.

Rotherham Fev Fan, you seem a well balanced person, your opinion on the above? Also your opinion on what further precations your club should take to avoid a repeat should we meet in the playoffs and indeed for any future games.

I'm a little confused, can anyone shed any light on any other teams that our troublesome faxfans have been aggressive and violent towards, because according to some people on here we also have an on going problem, I must somehow always manage to avoid that every week, strange that isn't it??? icon_stupid.gif

Just about the right time to slip this in, as you will recall I posted what Dave thought earlier about not holding any malice against Fev.
This was posted on both the Fax forum AND the Fev forum before the game.
First to show what a guy Dave is and how he feels.
Second in an attempt to difuse any further trouble.
Third that if and when trouble started again he had distanced himself from any of it.

What happened the other night was INSPITE of how Dave felt and said and not BECAUSE of what had happened to him.

Even after the post had been made.

THE ONE THING THAT IS UNDENIABLE AND IS SOLEY DOWN TO A SMALL GROUP OF FEV SUPPORTERS IS THAT DURING THE GAME THEY WERE CLEARLY HEARD SAYING BY SUPPORTERS OF BOTH CLUBS.

"YOU KNOW WHAT HAPPENED LAST TIME WE KICKED OFF"

IMPLYING THAT THERE WOULD ME MORE OF THE SAME AS WHAT HAPPENED TO DAVE TO ANY OTHER FAX FAN THAT THEY CAME ACROSS.

The fact is that 30 to 40 so called Fev fans are perfectly happy that another rugby league supporter was put in a coma and will spend the rest of his life in a wheel chair and not content with that gloat about it and the next victim is only a matter of time if they get their way.

These individuals are the scum of the earth and are at the root of all the trouble past and present, if these people were not there then there would no more than the usual banter that goes on at every rugby game.

The damage they are doing will affect the Fev club more than any other as hundreds of paying spectators will not being going there ever again and who could honestly blame them.

I wouldnt have so much faith in the British justice system if i were you. This is classed as a minor offence now adn will result in a slap on the wrists at the most but dont get me started on that. Its a respect problem and people like this show a lack of it.

As for the Halifax trouble makers, we did have a small element of young youths that were causing a bit of trouble over a season ago and i witnessed them abusing an away team coach of fans by Glynn Webb but they were teenagers who would have been ripped apart if the fans got off the coach and they were warned of this and `asked` to move along because they were giving us a bad name. Ive not seen anything since that though.

Additional facts

Not one to start getting in a tit for tat debate, but a good number more of Fev fans went on the pitch in the play-off semi of which some goading was involved and 600 Halifax just walked off and didn't react.

As for the player gesturing, I've never been bothered about it in any sport. I know people will argue the 'should be more professional' line, but if i'm calling someone 5 yards away a dickh**d, for example, and giving as good as I got, I'd feel a bit of a hypocritical tart if they then turned round and told me to feck off, it's just giving a bit back. Sportsmen are people just like the rest of us.
