I agree with you the sin bin in this case is nonsence, but if it stops players getting away with things like this the it has to be a good thing IMOhttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v
I am not sure what the answer is here since I have always regarded the shoulder charge as a good way of putting dominance on you opponent, but in the last few years it has increased as being a way of putting an illegal hit on your opponent.
At the end of the day if this helps player's safety then it has to be the right thing to do. |

Personally I think the shoulder charge is perfectly acceptable if Fevgrinder is standing at the bar infront of me.

I think the ruling should be considered with jnr rugby in mind.
Do we want young kids smashing other young kids with wild tackles? I am not sure.

Having spent such a long period of my own leisure time coaching kids the correct ( and safe ) way of tackling in various forms of "the tackle" it's one of the reasons i personally dislike the shoulder charge. Any player who's ever tried the shoulder charge & failed will know how much it can hurt, I cringe at the amount of times Makali missed completely or the ball carrier simply bounced away without being flattened & continued on his way leaving a gap where the tackler should have been positioned. |

Even if it hadn't been late it was still bad.
Nothing to do with the shoulder charge debate, this is just a dirty malicious tackle, just the same as Chase`s on Hardaker. Theres a massive difference between sticking the shoulder on someone and elbowing someone in the mush like Chase did.
