| Dave had an appalling start to the season, his fitness was awful, he being stepped in defence with regular ease, he was red faced and blowing after 10 mins, but... the last month hes been a rock, and a calming influence, we need his old head out there.
Brano must be in the squad because Bobs still not 100% fit and Hollys knees may just hold out, but Brano gives some security should either of these be injured.
Front row is the question the rest of the side picks itself.
Its who doesnt make it.. massive call for Matt and Martin, Im sure the Spaniard has some stats to help them.

| Same team as last week. Not fair to drop anyone after the last result and Holly and Branighan had little effect playing together against Fev.No Ostick or Tamghart either for me, we need consistancy and dont get it with these too and Cherryholme deserves his place after last week after he provided a better performance than these two could muster between them in the second half of the season.

Hear hear! Totally agree, Said has been a good player but i wouldnt give him a place. He was in France last week when all the other guys were giving it their all. He has been poor this season, perhaps due to injury to be fair to him but he does come out of the line too often IMO and has been putting down a lot of ball when playing. Cherryholme does nothing exciting but he tackles and thats what we need.

I was all for that at first, but is it really fair to leave Branighan out? Some may argue we wouldn't have been in this position without him, so I do believe he deserves a spot in the team. But I would start him on the bench, and bring him on after half time to mix things up a little.

Think Luke should be on the bench with Holly at 6 to get a grip of their pack with his kicking game, the only dilema being who do you drop from the 17 that played well last week.

That is a question that I, and and I suspect many others don't want to answer.

Ostick wasn't in the 17 against Sheffield, so you still have to drop someone to accomodate Branners.
Sayeed is still with Fax, he's been back in France but is back for the Final weekend and has been reported as available for selection.

| I always find it difficult commenting on positional and selection issues, but for quite a while now our squad has been pretty much bust-up with injuries & as UrbanCarrot has highlighted, credit to the medical team for helping to put a team on the park each week. Injuries have often determined who plays and even in which position, but, especially with Bob back in the side and IF Branno is fit enough to go, the coach's will be able to select a side to suit the game plan that they have decided is the one that can turn Fev around, I mean over....
These are the games every player wants to be involved in, think Frank the Tank missing out last year and his resulting form this season, but these are also the decisions a coach wants to be faced with.
Knowing some of the coaching staff & how they work, they will have a plan in place to win this game on a neutral pitch and we don't have the dis-advantage of going to Fev's narrow slope, which Finn has learned to master with his kickking for position.
Let's save our departing player goodbye's until after the game, let's not play the big occasion, let's just play the game how it needs to be won, either over the 80 or golden point or whatever, but the cup is there to be won, let's do it this time boys.

Narrow slope ? It's a myth that POR has a narrow pitch, and it is infact slightly wider than the HJS pitch.
It's very short though. About 13m shorter than at HJS.

| Looks like it'll be White missing out then.
Wasn't happy when I say his name down last week but he probaly had one of his best games for us, tackled well.
I'd rather have the same pack, they took the Seagulls down last week and set a platform and that's what we'll need again this week.
