| We were awful for the first hour, them all of a sudden something seemed to click and all the players woke up and realised that they can play rugby!!
My own thoughts before the game were that Frankie should be dropped but he made me eat my words and had his best game for ages. Worrincy ran well - seems to have gained some confidence - and took loads of pressure off the forwards bringing the ball out of our 20, and just how good is Shad at being in the right place at the right time

| We sound rusty but i'd rather a slow start than running out of steam like last year

| We were poor today but have to be pleased with the result based on our game time to date, players returning from injury and the conditions which were always going to be favourable to the Sheff pack. Although there were many missed tackles and dropped ball every man got stuck in and did their bit for the team and it looked like our fitness told in the end. We will certainly have better days. All in all to beat them today by any score or performance we would have taken it before kick off.
Well done to the groundstaff too

| That was an exceptionally hard match against a very good Sheffield team, and to come back from 3 scores down on that glue pot pitch was an excellent effort. Looks like we used a "get out of jail" card twice when Rob made a potential 18 nil down into 12-6 with his full length interception, but more cruicially they had a cruel bounce when their man failed to ground following a kick ahead when it was 26-12. You could say we were lucky, but you make your own luck. Well done lads.

| Eagles are probably around 4 games better off than us at presenty, so all in all this is a massive result for us. Should show the lads what can be achieved once we get some training done & games played.
Defence was good today on both sides, how we didnt score when we had 4 sets on their line in the 2nd half must be down to lack of practice as much as the good defence.
Good crowd there today aswell.
Onwards & upwards!!!!!

I was expecting better to be honest, I know the weather and lack of Sheff fans may have affected it. But I was hoping for 2,500 at least.
Anyway we played bad and still won, can't be a bad thing.

| Sheffiel dropped off for the last 10 mins of each half today and we capitalised, yet we're struggling by the coaching team's own admissions to get some quality sessions in, Sheffield are a good side, so we'll be firing soon, determination & quality won through today, well done boys.

Not to mention the constant arsing around on the floor, swinging arms in to the tackle and high shots. At least 2 penalties that never should have been and they scored off them, although we probably should have defended better. Holding down in the fist half and then in the second, when they knew we giving them a quick play-the-ball, milking for the penatly. OK they were playing to the ref who was letting them get away with it but it's rubbish to watch.

True mate but their 2nd try was lucky, good kick yer but on a normal day and a better pitch the ball would have just run off and our lads got their legs tied in knots as the pitch was so soft.
Sheffield came to win and they will be gutted they lost after being in a winning position, we did very well to get back from the dead - well done lads I never saw that coming. At the end we did look like the ones that were most likely to be able to keep going, they looked a bit out of it but we have to cut out silly passes coming away from our line, why do we do it???
Phew is the feeling, Sheffield do brilliant with such low support, they are like Rochdale of 3/4 years ago, annoying you but have to respect them, how do they do it? I guess its all down to Mark Aston, when he packs up they will be nothing.

| We would have lost that game last season and by some margin as well. In the last 20 we built pressure and did to Sheffield what they normally do to us - forced the mistakes. Showed a lot of character to come back from 26 -12. Thought Sheffield were going to run 40 up at that point and couldn't see us scoring.
Improving every game and that is 3 points we didn't get last season.
Good to play im proper mud every now and then as well

Thats a great point - was it 3 drop outs we forced in that period? I think them having to defend more told in the end - we looked much stronger finnishing the game.

| Still not sure how we won that one. We could neither tackle nor pass for sixty minutes. Frank and Said managed to turn the tide in the end.

| Don't forget we were a man down for ten minutes towards the end as well.
Its a great result against a tough side on a cow field with no practice
Was 4 sets of 6 on their line

| Excellent game to watch as a neutral. Thought the Sheffield pack dominated for the first hour, but Watene and Wrench turned up all of a sudden to give a bit of a platform for Penky and Royston to work from and it was all one-way traffic from then, though I thought Sheffield showed some absolutely immense defending for their line. Might have been very different had Worrincy not taken that interception and it had remained 0-12 for a while longer.
Miles more enjoyable than the rubbish I endured at Elland Road afterwards though.
